  1. So Pinto, Guch and Mismash were apparently the problem on the PP.
  2. Rieger almost had one.
  3. Pretty nice start.
  4. I got to school right after Patrick left, but I think Sanderson might be the best I have seen since about 1984, which floors me because we're talking about an 18-year old. He erases opposing possessions so often and seemingly easily. That said, I hope he decides to stick around for one more year to smooth out those remaining edges.
  5. The secret weapon for NCHC teams has been the incredible grind of the regular season. You won't see anything in the NCAA tournament better or tougher or tighter checking than you get multiple times each year. However, has the East/West split in the NCHC diluted UND's preparation this year? CC's not good, Denver seems good but doesn't win much, and we just don't know about Omaha. A tough game or two against SCSU or Duluth, or even a grinding WMU, in the NCHC playoffs, even if it doesn't go well, might be a helpful reminder for UND of what it's like to play a tight-checking game before the NCAA tournament.
  6. Goals coming a little too easy tonight. It can mess with your head.
  7. Including from the forwards. Omaha had a few rushes that looked dangerous until a backchecking forward stole it and headed the other way.
  8. Senden is playing well. Flying around, he looks like Scott Dub.
  9. That might be the worst icing call I've ever seen.
  10. Although Weatherby scored at the end of it, not sure what has happened to UND's #1 PP unit. They were so crisp earlier in the year, and that seems to have left the ice sheet. Omaha has succeeded by pressuring them, but you might expect that to make them vulnerable. Not yet.
  11. Per the CHN write-up Denver had 0 even strength SOG in the last 23 minutes Saturday.
  12. Denver had 5 and 2 shots in the second and third, respectively.
  13. Not sure why they didn't go 6-on-3 on the PP.
  14. Just about embarrassing to score after that fairly miserable PP. But we'll take it.
  15. While Thome wasn't great on the goal, arguably UND's two best defensemen let the guy get behind them.
  16. Pretty remarkable when you consider PPs were 3-0.
  17. They look rustier than in the first last night.
  18. Switch the goalies and you probably flip the score tonight so far.
  19. In the last few decades, how often has AHA had more than one tourney participant? It can't have happened more than once or twice, if at all.
  20. SC had their number earlier, but I gotta think Duluth is going to be a tough out at the end of the year.
  21. Blasphemer here, but do we even know if the NCHC is the top conference? The last national title game was almost two years ago. BC and Michigan have some really high end talent, and MN has turned into an NCHC style team under Motzko. The national tournament will reveal much.
  22. So in an 8 team league, they are better than 7 and 8 and trying to be as good as 4 and 5. Average sounds like a good description.
  23. Miami feels our pain, having lost the national title game in OT on a floater like that.
  24. Didn't actually think they were lazy tonight. Sloppy, made a few mistakes they paid for, had some strange goals against, hit a few posts, took at least one penalty too many at the end.
  25. Please give it a rest. We're here for hockey. It's inappropriate here and exhausting.
