Oh the butt hurt. Third time in 5 years, had NDSU not upset this team with "no talent" last year (when Daum was red-shirting) it would have been 4 of 5. That's the same team who had so little talent minus Daum that they took down CSU, the #1 seed in the NIT last year, in Ft. Collins. Must have been some good home cooking going on there. Oh, we also have not finished below 2nd in the regular season conference race for the past 5 years. But in your mind the wins in the SL tournament are due to a home court and the referees, OK, call LakesBison, you and he can be buddies.

The "Slummit" is the 11th conference in RPI, 15th in Sagarin. The BSC is 28th and if not for Weber and UM they would be 30 or 31. UND is a low 200 RPI BB team, SDSU 28.

Oh, and to top it off our women are making trip 7 in the past 8 season. They also have a 12 seed while starting all underclass women. We are likely a year or two from making the same type of run we made in 2009. The year our Women were ranked 15th in the AP and almost took down Baylor in the second round, in Texas when they had Griener. But hey, I'm sure their success is also due to home cooking and a home court advantage.

To make it all better for you. NDSU has won 5 national titles in a row in FB. Also, NDSU; as a 12 seed (wonder if they passed the "eye" test) took down Oklahoma in the NCAA tournament. It really has to kill you that the two State schools have had any success.

Call when the BSC moves to FBS. All because the NCAA loves Idaho so much they are going to change the rules to help them out. Funny stuff.

No disrespect but doesn't SDSU play all their Summit League post-season hoops conf tourney games basically at home?

There is a pretty good chance that they will have to play an afternoon game in either the regional or Frozen Four, so it might be good to get used to it. Plus it gives the team extra rest between games this weekend whether they win or lose. So it's best to get out of that routine and get ready for succeeding under different conditions. Maybe playing the afternoon game in the NCHC helped them get ready to play under different conditions in the regional last year.

Yeah, good point.  If my boss wasn't gone I no doubt would be there (I'm filling in).  If the Sioux win though on Fri I do plan to be there Sat night.

It has nothing to do with the fans. It is what the coaches believe is best for the team to win this tournament and prepare for the national tournament.

I get ya but I thought it was all about routine/sameness so 24 hrs between games like during the season on back to back nights...Last year at Target Center I believe the Sioux played at 4:00 Fri and it wasn't pretty.

We went through this exact same thing last year... Wonder how many fans we will lose due to this. We already have you and myself. Guessing a few.

At my job not too hard to get Fri afternoon  but this year hard get all day Fri in order to make 4:00 game, likely won't happen.  Don't understand logic at all in picking 4:00 vs evening game for fan purposes.

I think the best part this weekend for me was seeing the boys step on the throat of an inferior opponent. We came out flying right from the puck drop and never gave CC a sniff. In a one and done in two weeks, this will be huge. When we play with the pace we did this weekend, we are the best team in the country.

We smelled blood early in both games and took it to CC. There will be ebbs and flows to games as the playoffs play out and being able to bury a team when they are struggling at any point in a game will be huge. Great effort from the boys. Can't wait for next weekend.

Ditto, spot on analysis.  These past 2 wknds we stepped on throats of 2 inferior opponents.  While that may sound to some like what's the big deal, during this season in particular games we struggled/had tough go at its against not so very good teams Maine (neutral site tie), Bemidji (road tie), Wis (HOME loss), Ala-Huntsville (1-0 UND home win) and CC (5-5 home tie).  Blowing out CC and W Mich last wknd was no foregone conclusion (see proceeding sentence) but UND did just that, taking care of and doing what they needed to do and what was expected.

I expect Freije and Klabo to take big steps forward next season. Hopefully the Denver transfer can be a big contributor, too.

Hey, the Edina freshman was the 3rd good young player.  Quick and high energy and made some mid-range jumpers and driving to the basket making some hoops.  Along with the Denver transfer, we have the NDSU gal who transferred assuming she'll be healthy.  I believe she's a forward, she should do fine for us.

How about we drop women's hockey once we drop men's basketball.  Women's hockey is more competitive.  When was the last time the

You know, I tried to watch women's hockey (Sioux) and did several times over the years but as much as I've really tried I just can't get into it like I do men's hockey.  The reason?  No checking.  Yes, supporters will argue there's body contact but there's no hard hits/checking, which makes no sense.  It's females on females so allow it (why not?).  Hockey is a great sport to watch because it's both fast and physical but that second element is missing from women's hockey.  I go to UND women's basketball as much as I attend the men's games, coach girls youth soccer and watch the US national women's soccer team games and I enjoy them just as much as on the men's sides for those sports.  So no, I'm not at anti-women sports.  So why do I differ when it comes to viewing hockey?  Cus the game is not fundamentally the same when it comes to hockey.  It is what it is.

UND has a 51-37 lead over Montana after the 3rd quarter

    One more to go! Finish!

If Mont was smart, considering they're down by double digits and less than a qtr to go. they would press us in the backcourt.  We don't handle it well.

Female announcer conyinues to say "They are building something in North Dakota" obviously has no clue about the history, tradition and success of women's basketball at UND.

Ditto, I thought the very exact same thing.
