I was talking with some of the UND folks when  they were down for the uno game and apparently there is a Chinese company that makes knockoffs -- any one know if that's the case?

I'm looking for an authentic black size 54 and an authentic green size 54. if anyone wans to sell me one drop me an email

I won a game worn grimaldi during one of the auctions a while ago, but that aint leaving the house.

    Thanks

    Quinn

    Amazon is listing the knock-offs.

Not going to lie, I've gotten them before, I have a Toews Blackhawks and a Crosby penguins and they are awful. Should just toss them, but I don't want to make the person feel bad that got them for me. My wife got me a Claude Lemieux Avs for Christmas a couple years ago and it's night and day difference in the material, the fit, the comfort, and the overall quality of them. Wore it to a Wild game a year ago and the fans that understood who it actually was were pretty complimentary on it. Long story short, instead of buying a knockoff, save some money and watch eBay or other auction sites.

I have a Parise Wild that is just not the right color of red.  I've worn it to a couple of games, but it's pretty obvious when next to a quality one.  I know your pain :(

  2. I thought last year was smoother than year 1 (not like that's saying all that much).  Hopefully the wristband debacle is fixed!  Drinks are expensive, but they have a good variety and I believe you can take your mixed drink to your seat (I prefer beer, but the Mrs. shakes it up).

As for showing your ticket; yes, every time.  But, if you haven't learned to have it out for them to see by the second time you enter your section, that's on you.

So is the question would u trade Berry for a Natty ?

I think we've already established that many on this board would trade family members, let alone coaches, for another natty.

(And not just mother-in-laws, either, but family members they actually like! ;))

A very well-written viewpoint - another writer who loved the outdoor game in Minneapolis:

    http://www.thepostgame.com/daily-take/201602/san-jose-minnesota-outdoor-hockey-nhl-stadium-series

Funny the writer didn't mention the snow on the field was fake, when mentioning the snow around the rink several times.  Not "we used a snow maker from a ski area" fake, but more like cotton batting.  Many, many, many laughs were had in the stands about how they needed pretend snow in MN in Feb!

  5. ^^ We tried to hit Tom Reids Friday before the outdoor game, but it was closed for a private party... As in loaded with all the alumni.  Quick look through the window in the door (all blinds were pulled) made it clear who was in attendance

  6. Christian Evers went out early in the first period Saturday night in Fargo.  Awkward collision with a Force player - neither saw it coming - and both got shook up.  Evers however was helped to his feet to get off the ice.  The way they treated him, it looked like it could've been a collarbone.  He did not return.  Hope the kid is OK!

It was weird having Lincoln come in with 2 Sioux commits, while Fargo currently has none.

I wonder if the NCHC would ever consider the experiment of rotating the Frozen Faceoff among different locations? I think that could potentially generate fan interest.

It could help with certain fan bases that don't historically travel well when it came to their town.

The NCHC would need to make sure there was adequate hotel and food/drink places near the venue, however, or risk losing some people who would travel otherwise.  Yes, the first priority is hockey, but if you have to travel 1,000 miles, then deal with parking nightmares, or staying 40 minutes away because there aren't enough hotels to accommodate everyone, it could really hurt.  Hotels near an arena can fill up for other events that happen to be on the same weekend, too.  Imagine having it at the REA on a weekend that was a Canadian holiday (esp when their dollar was stronger).  Suddenly hotels are at a premium - and I wouldn't call most "walking distance" from the arena and food and drink. Great for us, but who else would be there?

I don't know if I can bring myself to say that. He's one of the few players that I would like to literally punch in the face.

I wonder how he'd have turned out playing in GF?  I doubt Hak would've put up with the level of diving MN did encouraged.  Maybe would have developed further in other parts of his game?

  9. Conspiracy theory alert!  It's a make-up call after they suspended one of Omaha's guys during the series played in GF, and he wouldn't be suspended except that it's against UNO. ;)

Schloss calls for a split with UMD winning tonight.

I'll wait to hear the "truth" from Dave!

Would mean our boys drop 3 straight conference games...  Nope. Not buying that one.

And the d@mn well better not do it, either! ;)

Amazing what a little bit of "want to" and effort will do. A good chunck of this team should be embarrassed for quitting on Yeo......not that he wasn't part of the issue. Can't win a home game in 2016, fire the coach then reel off 3 straight in the road. IMO that says more about the players than the former coach.

    Agreed.

Now they get a home game on Sunday against the nemesis Blackhawks.  And outdoors where the Blackhawks get a game (seems more like 3?) every year, and it'll be MN's first...  I'm still excited to go to the game, but I'm more than a little guarded about the outcome.

Thank you! I wasn't sure if kids could go to Rhombus!! I'm going to give them a try! Think will try Wild Hog too.  Thanks again.

Rhombus Pizza and Rhombus Brewery Taproom are different places.  Both are kid friendly, however the menus are completely different!  Just a heads up so you don't go to the taproom expecting pizza.

  13. I didn't see it elsewhere in the thread (easily could have missed it), but the bookstore is letting you order a couple of the legacy items online - 1 men's shirt, 1 women's, and a couple of other items.

Now that my order is placed and confirmed, I figured I'd share the news ;)
