I think many were wondering if he was in the doghouse or something.  Kept getting chances but then wouldn't produce (not even to his FR level).

He was def in the dog house. I remember hearing that he was losing confidence. I’m he’s a guy that had to play top 6…bottom 6 wasn’t a good role for him. He picked a spot where he could play without always looking over his shoulder. I personally don’t like the move…should have stayed and earned it. I’m guessing he would have.

  2. Boy I wish Matteo would have stayed? Struggled last year with consistency but he was still a soph right? I liked his game as a frosh. Looks good. He would have def helped us. Top 6 F for sure.

I’m of the opinion anyone that brings a clean physical game will knock them off their pedestal. Those hockey east teams don’t like to hit. They particularly don’t like to get hit.

Depends how the refs call it. If you play too physical they’ll win the PP battle. And putting a team like that on the PP frequently is a death sentence

Seems like any opposing team is going to have to play flawless against them and that still might not be enough with the skill BC has. So maybe gotta hope BC decides to have a clunker of a game in the tournament?

    Agreed.

People get crucified on this board for saying parity is a factor, but ignoring it, especially in a game that is often a one-bounce game, is just wild to me. I think many fans don't have reasonable expectations anymore, frankly. The overreactions are absolutely obnoxious and drips with entitlement. A large amount of our fanbase sees every loss we have as "the boys aren't trying hard enough" or "the boys don't care enough" or "Bubs can't get them up for a big game", and that's what bothers me. We seem to have this expectation (not all of us, but some -- still the minority, but a loud and vocal one) that we should win every game just because we're North Dakota and that's how it works. College hockey is just different now than it used to be . Added parity with how the game of hockey works, we now have a game that is anyone's game each night.

More often than not, the best team wins. I'm hoping we're the best team tonight. And if we don't, it's not due to a magic potion whispered from Bubs, it's because we played better and finished our chances.

Agreed 100%. But at some point a trend needs to be reviewed/assessed. Not today though! Big tilt tonight!

If they win.  But if they lose, they're a bunch of lazy, can't-play-a-full-60, shoulda-played-elsewhere-or-here-for-a-different-coach, unSioux slugs.

This will be a dog fight. It’s a coin flip, even if we play well.

Was NOT impressed with BU. And, I thought it was the Mavs game. Outplayed the rodents for long stretches, made some very costly mistakes. Especially the second goal. I had just stated to my wife ‘can’t do that!’ (On the failure behind the net) and *boom* in the back of the net!!!

I don’t think BU was all that impressive either. Super top heavy. Gophs will expose that.
