I was half teasing, I agree ASU would pay the departure fee.
-
I wonder who’s going to pony up the $50k fee
-
Unreal get for the conference

I’m actually thinking Strinden could have a solid year if given an offensive role.
-
I would be a bit shocked if Berg out produced this past year. Omac may do a bit better but having Blake on his wing was huge. Perron will make a huge jump next year.
-
Mac Swanson…USHL forward of the year yesterday…player of the year today. Huge accomplishments. Not sure why we aren’t talking about him
-
That there have been good players playing in the MJ? There’s been tons of great players that have played in that league. Many of the Manitoban Dub players played in the MJ before major juniors.
-
That is not even remotely close to the point I was attempting to make
-
Yessir you are absolutely correct. Many people are simply name dropping players who played in that league…tons of players have played in that league but most good players were very young, and played in a better league as they got older. This kid is old…right now. At 15-16 he was playing midget hockey, not juniors. I am too hoping we found a diamond in the rough, but I also have been following this long enough to know who this player “most likely” is. I’m out, I don’t like sounding negative about our commits, but I couldn’t stand watching this convo play out.
-
Yeah, I’m sure they did. It was 38 years ago. Scouting is no perfect science…but the ability to scout via enhanced tech has drastically changed over that time span
-
Exception…you mean complete outlier

Guys…everyone’s going off the rails here. The MJ is a fairly low level league, a click above high school hockey. Yes Eddie the eagle played in the league many moons ago. Yes some Toba boys played in the league when they were 15 and then moved on to a much better league. I too am hoping this kid pans out, but I’d also be blown away if he gets more than 5 games next year.
-
Still confused why panzer wouldn’t have went back for another year. Makes zero sense.
-
WHL US priority draft today…typically a good indicator on higher end 09s from the area
-
He’s going to be a good one. I would assume he’s more of a 3 yr player at least to work on his O game. Bad as you alluded, a lot will depend on who drafts him.

Guessing it was a joke
-
We’ll ya…you know what I meant

Not a former player, but a former coach, sounds like Hak is on the way out. Hopefully he finds his next spot quickly.

I already did It’s 17-18 years olds vs 18-23 years old. The skill is super fun to watch…ask anyone on the hockey world and it’s a no brainer tbh. -

It’s fun watching them play, many are going to be good NHL players in the future. NTDP > Manitoba in a landslide. Guessing NTDP chose not to come here. -

100%…does that NCAA exhibition not count as a real game? If so, that’s dumb. Also, Manitoba instead of NTDP??? Also a step down -

The only reason i actually liked the idea…was because Berg is 100% a wing (even though he wins draws). Omac’s skating is significantly better and he’s rangy. As you probably know, there’s a ton of responsibility that goes into playing C besides draws. There are a ton of W’s in the NHL that take plenty of draws, because they’re good at it. Now will it happen…probably not. I’m just saying W is easy; at C you have to be able to skate/pass. Berg is somewhat one dimensional with his shot. Let him focus on that and put a good passer down the middle. There’s a reason almost all trigger men play W. -
Really? Wow, that’s deep

Good point, completely forgot that OMac was playing C. I strongly feel like Berg should move to wing. He looks and plays like a wing.
