The writing is certainly on the wall. I am pretty sure he is headed to Portland so I am just moving on from this thread. If he does come to UND great if not its just business as usual.

Seth Jones' brother, Caleb, was drafted by Portland in their Bantam draft the other day. Package deal perhaps? They could be just trying to sweeten the pot to lure him. I wish he would decide soon so we can move on from this whatever the outcome.

Well what is the concenses on what Seth is going to do. Portland? or UND? I say Portland.

Alrighty folks. I think some news from this weekend will pretty much give us the writing on the wall about Seth. Since his buddy Koules decided to go to the W and Seth visiting Portland over the weekend it looks like we have lost out in the Seth Jones sweepstakes. I am sure by the end of the week we will have something official. Good luck Seth and I (we) appreciate you looking at UND.

He did give a verbal to DU but did not sign a NLI.

Well we also have Keaton Thompson who plays for the NTDP team. The only thing going there is he is a ND boy.

I do agree that with Koules out that does probably lessen the likely hood of Seth coming. Perhaps Koules got word seth is headed to the WHL and decided he didn't want to be the only one left still going. Whatever the case may be we will move on regardless of what Jones or Koules do.

I know this is not a big loss for UND but it really just irks me. I knew when Koules tweeted that he was headed to NY with Matteau that only bad things would follow. I just go back to the old saying if you aren't sure don't committ. I don't want to wish bad things on anyone but all I can say is Karma. Perhaps Koules and Matteau will be able to someday play on the same team. Birds of a feather flock together.

I would assume since he visited UND that he would give the same respect to whatever WHL team is interested in him. I wouldn't buy to much into it either.

Does anyone know why Seth's brother left DU? I have followed many a Sioux season but in the last 5yrs I don't ever remember hearing of a Jones at DU. That certainly doesn't mean he didn't I just don't recall a Jones playing for DU. So my other question is was/is his older brother any good?

I think Jim is a fantastic player. He may not be the most skilled guy but you can tell he is all heart. I think a lot of people may underestimate Jim and that will only work to his advantage. Believe it or not but it is guys like Jim who really bring the team together and cohesive. I will be so happy for him when he gets his first goal. I remember back at the Final Five this year right as the announcers were announcing Parks had scored to make it 2-3 against the gophers Jim comes along the sidewall and passes it over to Brock to tie it up at 3 and the route was on.

Back on topic. So is it a done deal that Seth will be going to Portland? I haven't heard much outside of Everett giving rights for Portland to talk to Seth. My thought is he is going to Portland but I have not seen where he has offically stated that.

That's what I was afraid of. You see the grass isn't always greener on the other side. I sure hope both players can find their way because they both are excellent players.

Does anyone know if JGregs is hurt again for St. Johns? I see they are still in the playoffs but he doesn't seem to be playing much. Kind of disappointing to hear as when he was a Sioux he tore it up and was usually one of the best players on the ice for either team.

I agree 100% with that statement. It would be nice to land Seth but I am much more happy to have Kristo returning.

I think perhaps some people might be underestimating Mr. Caggiula. He is a darn good player and he steps it up come playoff time. The coaches are real high on him as well. He is going to be a gem for us. If you have ever watched him play he has some TJ Oshie qualities and real nice hands with a good shot. Oh and he is not afraid to get physical either.
