Here’s how it’s shaking out… We were never going to be in same bracket as DU.
Allentown, Pa.
1. Michigan vs. 16. American International
8. Quinnipiac vs. 10. St. Cloud StateAlbany, N.Y.
2. Minnesota State vs. 15. Harvard
7. North Dakota vs. 9. Notre DameWorcester, Mass.
3. Western Michigan vs. 14. Northeastern
6. Minnesota vs. 11. MassachusettsLoveland, Colo.
4. Denver vs. 13. Massachusetts-Lowell
5. Minnesota Duluth vs. 12. Michigan TechThat's what I thought last night but don't it will happen. I think Moy/Connelly (Wilbur too) got it correct with a 10 - 11 swap and UND in Worcester.

Bracket integrity was my #1 thing. And you regardless aren't going to be able to protect #1 or #2. They are out east. Why punish Mankato with a possible 9 seed instead of an 11 if those teams beat ND?
My biggest gripe is the same people that talk no on campus regionals are the same ones that worry about "helping attendance", and "protecting higher seeds".
With how things lined up a number 1 band team is going to get potentially punished, in this case it's WMU. My initial rationale was to leave the WMU bracket alone and in Worcester since 2 Mass. schools were already there but I failed to see 10 SCSU 11 UMASS swap and assigning MSU-M bracket to Worcester. I will be very surprised if the bracket you laid out isn't the bracket the committee presents.

They have the chance to keep it pretty close seeding wise.
Me:
Albany
1. Mich vs. 16 AIC
8. The Q. 9 The Irish
Wooster:
2. Mankato vs. 15 Harvard
7. UND vs. 11 Mass
Allentown:
3. Western vs. 14 NE
6. Goldy vs. 10 SCSU
Loveland:
4. Denver vs. 13 Lowell
5. Duluth vs. 12 Tech
I don't mind our bracket. I swapped 9 and 10 but the 10 - 11 swap makes more sense in the fact that the overall #1 seed's bracket remains true.

My gut tells me they put St. Cloud vs Minny to avoid having an NCHC team in each region.
According to Moy and Connelly your gut is right.

Typically 3 seed swap - gopher might get matchup with St Cloud and UND gets UMass
Don't think they move UMASS out of Worcester

Straight brackets:
1 Michigan vs 16 AIC
8 QU vs 9 Notre Dame
2 Mankato vs 15 Harvard
7 UND vs 10 SCSU3 WMU vs 14 Northeastern
6 UMN vs 11 UMass4 DU vs 13 UMass-Lowell
5 UMD vs 12 MTUOnly issue is UND vs SCSU, so I'd guess they'd swap UMass or Notre Dame with SCSU.
Notre Dame swap with SCSU - answered my question - thanks
-
Looks like a UND - SCSU first round matchup which won't happen. What will the committee do to avoid that? Can they swap 2 seeds, 8 and 7 specifically, to follow protocol? Or will they look for a 3 seed swap?

UML best help their campaign with a win tonight.

Are there any scenarios that would get Northeastern into the tournament?
They and OSU can still get in, provided Beavers loose, UCONN loses, and Quin. wins ECAC. 13 to 15 is not very solid at the moment.

Brink was a huge get for DU. Anyone know if the Gophers recruited him?

Can't play puck on other side. Have to cross redline during the long change period during a delayed penalty. It's a long ways to go in some rinks with penalty boxes n pa in between benches.

AHA: AIC / RIT / Air Force / Mercyhurst
ECAC: Quinnipiac / Clarkson / Harvard / Colgate
HEA: Northeastern / UMass / UM-Lowell / Connecticut
CCHA: Minnesota State / Bemidji State
B1G: Minnesota / Michigan
NCHC: Denver / UND / WMU / UMD -
Moy and Connelly have a new one out. Thought it was a pretty straight forward week except for the final swap with 6 - 11 out to Worcester and 5 -12 to Loveland. I thought swapping 11 UMASS with 12 MTU addressed the attendance in Worcester.

The average PWR of the four Frozen Four teams will be ... ?

I think what hurt the east is ... last season.
Correlate "games played in 2020-21 season" to the PWR right now. Teams that took 2020-21 off are hurtin' right now.
Interesting, never thought of it like that.

Agree, we would be in Loveland if it was today. It would be close to a straight up bracket with exception of swapping 14 NE with 15 OSU. I don't think OSU will be in the mix after the weekend though and who knows what will happen in HE.
I also think committee would consider swapping 12 MTU with 11 UMASS which would move them to Worcester and Tech to Loveland.

Again, feel free to elaborate why you don't think it'll happen. If the season ended right now, we would be the second highest 2 seed and DU the third No. 1 seed. So, it's not super hard to consider them flipping our match up into Loveland to increase attendance elsewhere.

I don't think it matters much this year. They look like they will all be tough and I bet many are hoping UND isn't in their regional.
As in who do you want from the second band? WMU - nope, UND - nope, Quin or Irish, a guy could live with that I guess.

UND has just as good a chance of beating anyone in this tournament. Let the chips fall where they may and let the boys play. We will get placed in an unfavorable regional and I am sure we wouldn’t have it any other way. Time to roll. I don’t really care much of the outcome of the NCHC tournament, we are already in the NCAA tourney. Sure it would be nice to be a higher seed but it is what it is and the boys will be ready.

Stupidly enough I hadn't considered how much better that regional would be attended as compared to others. I'm now fully on board for a Loveland regional!
It would be a good one with us there.

Most likely discussed previously through the years but none of the USHL venues in Iowa are interested in hosting? That's Midwest, albeit the western edge.
