What was the call? Looked like holding to me. He wrapped his arm.
Think so - Cooley had a little extra

If he did that in the N he'd have to answer for it. Coincidental penalties, sure, but saying Cooley did nothing wrong is hilarious.
The problem was the near ref basically said both or none - which I agree with at that pt. In the game n then the back ref has arm up - the optics looked bad there

I thought the coaching by Pecknold was a thing of beauty. Such a ballsy call pulling the goalie with three minutes to play. At the time he did that, I openly complained to my wife how that was the wrong decision. Goes to show why he’s the coach and I’m sitting on my living room couch.
Edit: Not to mention, that set play to start the overtime (which I eventually got to see after the fact). Just a great piece of coaching in such a high pressure game with everything at stake. Hats off to coach Pecknold and of course, to his players who executed.
I was thinking not again

And Barry said it definitely won't be a pretty goal to end it.

A lot of Gopher fans complaining about the Cooley penalty, saying it's not a penalty.
I didn’t care for the call either if it’s the one I’m thinking of. Anyhow the right team lost. No hanging of #10 from DU or Mich. and BU n Goofs stay at 5. Good job Q - couldn’t have asked more from you. You made my season somewhat tolerable.

Should be good. I think the Goofs are the better team unfortunately.

There’s usually a couple teams Ontario leagues that are decent. The year I went to the national junior A tournament in Canada, the Ontario teams got beat pretty handily by the AJ (Brooks) and BC teams (Prince George). Portage Terriers were there out of the MJ and they were more competitive.
Portage won the Centennial Cup in 2015, Yorkton in 2014. Portage hosts it this year and plays regardless if they win the MJ or not. BCHL currently isn't participating in Centennial cup because of issues with Hockey Canada and the CHL. Royal Bank Cup back then.

Agreed. I didn't think twice about that tweet. Pretty tame ribbing.
I thought it was funny and was far from having poor taste.

I don’t want to believe that but??

Just because - had we qualified we likely would have been 14 or 15. I think the predictor had us at 14 and would have meant 3 v 14 in Fargo. That would have been sweet.

This is hard to watch. I think a line-brawl would have happened in Juniors already.

Looking to be run time in the third.

Star Tribune posted in their preview that they went 2-6-3 to close the regular season so of those 7 wins, it appears most were probably in January.
Definitely on a skid and we have trended the other way. Should be a good one tonight regardless, hopefully with us on the right side.

I would assume that, in both cases, they are fitting their design into existing constraints. The Kohl Center is not just a hockey facility. For Mariucci, it is purely a hockey facility, but they're modifying from an existing footprint. Have to take into consideration seating, sightlines, etc. I'm guessing the NCAA has a standard that a hockey ice sheet must conform to with certain dimensions being flexible within a range (like width) and others fixed (like goal crease, etc).
Agree, pitch of the seating will also have to be considered to add more rows too, if that's what they are planning on doing.

@Clark17, is there a reason they're not just going with a regulation 85' rink width? (It seems weird that universities can just pick an arbitrary width, like Wisco's 97'.)
Yes seems arbitrary but like another post on here they need to work within the arena setup for seating etc...

To me, biggest stat of game:
200 x 100
200 x 853M up for overhaul after tonight. Narrowing it up to between 88 - 92.

Jake's a big boy....he gave his opinion, BB gave his. Not sure it's that big of a deal.
I like Jake, he does a nice job and has improved tremendously from when he started. He says what needs to be said. I think he's pretty objective for being labeled a homer.

Did you see Minot State is having 2 exhibition games. 1 with Denver and 1 with Colorado College. They are gonna play at the end of December.
Yes, excited. We all know what the likely outcome is but it promotes ACHA and hockey in ND. I’ve thought for many years why hasn’t there been a concerted push for Minot State to mirror the likes of some their D2 counterparts. Not saying that’s what this is but it’s still a pretty big deal. Can’t wait!
