Looks like Spicer hopped on with Youngstown. Sounds like his deal was one particular incident…not necessarily flunking all his classes.

Will he remain a Bulldog next season?  I guess I would think so.  Good deal for him to not forfeit his NCAA eligibility while being able to practice and play games at an elite level.

I grit my teeth with DU fans going into the fact they have 9 National Championships to our 8.

I want to say we could have nine if not for Covid. Possibly 10 if Michigan wasn’t such a batch of cheating $)&&))

I hope for nine this year with this team but pucks make odd bounces.  Still hoping though.

Imagine what 4 rounds of playoffs would look like although it will never be feasible at the college level.   No one and done but there would be several teams without a championship as well.  It would probably come down to the any of the 6 to 8 usual's every year.  Maybe not a good thing for college hockey?

Goal tending is the teams weakness.

This team has already essentially made the playoffs.

Learn to see the bigger picture. Meaning defense will need to step up their game to avoid a tournament letdown.

Nice to no longer see Brad write:  "UND outshot their opponent once again by 18 yet only scored one goal."

You’re talking about the same goaltending that stole one from Wisconsin, came into this series with a GAA below 2 n a save % of .927 or something like that? In my mind he  didn’t have a chance on the first 4 Friday night either.  It happens but weak-side assignments get missed, especially when chasing and/or tired.  It happened last night in the third but the puck never got across, had it the game would have been over in regulation.

No, more apathetic at this point. Are you happy?

No I'm not happy about Saturday.  My original comment was facetious no doubt.  I didn't care for the carve regarding the hockey program is all.  It was the term "unfortunately" which I perceived as a carve.  Yes I want the football program to be better and more consistent, not at the expense of hockey though.  I probably took the post I responded to out of context.  Happens all the time these days with forums and texts etc...

Unfortunate because there’s a lot - and I mean a lot - of UND students, alumni, and fans who want to support football and basketball rather than just hockey yet UND athletics blatantly ignores them. How do they ignore them? By not bolstering these programs with championship expectations. The expectations currently are basically “participation award” level. Coaching extensions after a losing season (Bubba extended after going 5-6 in 2021?) … c’mon! Promoting staff members to coordinator positions they don’t deserve … c’mon! No outside influence, just “inbreeding”. The reality is simple; football and basketball are more popular in this country than hockey. It’s fine that UND emphasizes hockey to differentiate itself and honor tradition, but ignoring the opportunities that DI football and basketball present is irresponsible.

    Are you angry?

Ok Mexico. Your post is filled with assumption and supports the status quo, which should not be acceptable. It all starts with expectations, which I agree at UND is larger with hockey, unfortunately. That can change and evolve, though.

How is that unfortunate?  Sorry, it'll always be hockey just not women's hockey.  :D

Those for real?  I would not approve if I were a Huskies fan.

From a legal standpoint this will be an interesting case.  I'm curious to see the essential elements of the charge, and I'd love to see the jury instructions if the case got to that point.  With the assumption of risk/consent, or whatever doctrine is applicable to sporting events in this case, it will be pretty complicated to sort out.

Some incidents have been clearly outside the scope of the sporting event, but that's a tough line to draw as far as what can be proved beyond a reasonable doubt.  I don't know how the "reckless" or "negligent" culpability levels are applied to sports.  I believe most in-competition criminal charges are based on intentional acts clearly outside the scope of play, ala Todd Bertuzzi. A ton of incidents in sporting events could be deemed reckless or "dirty" and result in injury. I suspect the prosecutors will have to be on their game for this one.

Marty McSorley too.  Think about what went on on the ice many years ago.  McSorley & Bertuzzi stuff happened much more frequently.  Not condoning that behavior but that was the way it was.

How many trainers on the sidelines have any training in emergency procedures for this type of injury.  Time is so essential and correct steps need to be taken.

Very true.  How often are medical personnel available at youth games?  Coached for many years and have been at many tournaments, jamborees, and games with no medical personnel present.

  10. Midway through 3rd I felt as though I was watching a regional game in March with us on the wrong end trying to even it up.  Stay out of box n get some yield from PP and they'll be a tougher/toughest out.  Great goalie, great sticks, and skill through lineup is solid, just gotta figure a few things out.

Even back in the original barn, when I went with my parents as a young kid, people were passing thermoses with various "fortified beverages" in them. And people brought blankets because it was so damn cold in there, so cold that it actually got foggy at times.

I got caught trying to make a mixer in the stall at the old Ralph.  Security figured it out after my 3rd. or so visit to the bathroom.  :D  Thankfully I was at least 21 at the time.  They just kicked me out for the night.

It seems like after bantam aa the kids don’t get enough ice time in nd high school leagues

the annual gfc and gfrr games were a war! Now it’s just buried in the schedule at eagles or purp now

Really limited by NDHSAA as far as amount of games that can be scheduled and as we all know NDHSAA doesn't give a @#% about HS Hockey.
