  10. Good to hear that Schuler and Salmonson will be good to go for this game at the very least, feel a lot better now going into today. About Brekke, what are the chances that if he cannot go this year, UND tries to pursue a 6th year of eligibility for him?
  11. UND got cold and Iowa got hot 45-28 Iowa at the half
  12. Iowa is going a run now, quickly up 7 on back to back to back 3's. 31-24 with 3:57 to go
  13. Iowa made a few runs to cut the lead down, UND still up 19-18 with 9:12 left in 1st
  14. UND off to a hot start down in Iowa City, up 13-4 to start the game against the #21 ranked Hawkeyes
  15. Unlike Schuler and the rest of the guards, minus Hooker, he is actually built to handle more of the wear and tear of playing down low. He is also not afraid to be a banger and mix it up with the posts. Since we have such a terrible situation in the front court currently he has the length and strength to play the 4 much better than Schuler can. Plus he can give that ability of scoring 8-10 points off the bench, as he showed from time to time last year.
  16. Anybody got an update on our injured players?
  17. -A couple of times I noticed that Nash would not take the open shot and would instead settle for a more contested shot, sometimes its easier to catch a shot in rhythm and bury it and try and create. They were 2 shot that Nash could have easily made. -team is still inconsistent in their zone offense, some times they will go down and actually execute and move the ball around well and attack the middle of the zone. Other times they would resort back to their old ways, other times they get the movements but don't execute. Its a snails pace of improvement, but this is something that these guys should know how to execute since their HS days. -I actually like in the zone offense putting Calcaterra and Benton in the middle, they need to get in there more because they can distribute. I am a huge proponent of big men in the middle getting 3-5 assists a night from that spot. -there was a lot of fouls that were 90+ feet from the basket. dumb, dumb, dumb -the stretch that killed us was the turnovers and our poor D execution, we lost our man too many times during that stretch. I hope these guys ran zone offense and shell drills all week this team, conference play starts on Sunday. Time to man up
  18. For some crazy reason I decided to watch the game (since I haven't yet) and my thoughts for the 1st half: -4 moments stick out to me in the 1st half for o-board miscues 1) Webb and Schuler both fail to block out Hemmstra at the 17:25 mark of the 1st half, SDSU would later convert a 3 point play 2) Calcaterra misses a block out on Heemsta at 12:12 mark of 1st half, SDSU hits 3 3) Nash missed a box out at 6:16, result Nash foul 4) Nash get boards, but fails to be strong with the ball and Bittle steal it for 2 SDSU gets 8 big points and a key Nash foul in this half alone
  19. Dont remind me. The male equivalent of giving birth.
  20. UND starts, IMO, a crucial 6 games stretch in conference. UNC preformed the best out of Big Sky in non-conference and is looking to make an early statement that they are a team to beat as well. UND is looking to turn the page from what was a disappointing finish to a non-conference season. Last year the teams split the 2 meetings, each winning on the road. Anderson hit a game winning 3 the last time these two teams tangled. We don't know the injury situation with Schuler, Salmonson and Traylor and whether or not they will play. Hooker, Stefan, Antwi and Calcaterra need to step up in some way shape or form to fill the space. I think Anderson is long overdue for a 20+ point, stat sheet stuffer night. and get to the free throw line please!!!!!
