If the NCAA would allow kids to come and play college if they left the CHL before they turned 19 I think might bring in some good players that know they need the time college would give them to develope.
I knew he was in Houston with the Aeros. I also probably have been following UND hockey longer than you and most of the posters here for that matter. Were you in Detroit in '87 like I was? Did you see 40 of the 48 games played that year? Didn't think so.
Did you hit your head? He was always a big minus when he was here and the other d did not even want to be paired with him. He would get caught playing forward coughing up the 2 on 1 or a 3 on 1 and the d who was back got blamed by Hak for letting in the goal.
My thought too since he never really did anything here. His Portland stats has him playing in 72 games, 7 goals, 8 assists, and 59 penalty minutes. Not a lot of points for 72 games so was he the 3rd or 4th line checking forward/penalty killer?
Why do this kids fall for this crap? Quick way to the NHL for a small select group. Mostly all it does is get you to the AHL or the ECHL one or two years sooner where they then need to grow up mentally and physically to equal the kid who took the college route. I did talk to one Coyote official and I said that Hextall left UND to soon. He said Hextall had gone as far as he could at UND.
From what you guys have said about him here before I was expecting the same thing. That was why I paid attention do him. Different atmosphere or type of play maybe is why?
I just got done watching the Coyotes prospect camp. Mike Lee and Hextall were playing in it. No one really stood out very much though. Lee looked somewhat weak though and Hextall being the second oldest skater did not stand out. Miles Koules looked pretty good though. He would have been a nice addition.
And what is the selling point of buiding arenas and stadiums? That there will be development around the new arena. What did Wilf want to build in Ramsey County?
