Needs for me are 1 OL 1QB 1WR (a burner) and 1 DL. That leaves two more scholarships to get athletes for either side of the ball that can play multiple positions.
Id really like to see some ND kids. I don't care if they're walk ons or scholarship we need at least a few every year.
One offense we only need a qb or two, a couple more hogs, and a wr maybe two. We need to build serious depth on defense. That's how we're going to dominate the Big Sky.
Really good athlete. His film didn't exactly blow me away. Maybe the staff sees something they can develop. It's always nice to have good overall athletes on defense.
I did some digging to shed light on our qb discussion. By conference Starting NFL QBs PAC 12 - 5 - 15% SEC - 5 - 15% B1G - 5 - 15% ACC - 6 -18.7% Big 12 - 3 - 9% Other - 8 - 32% Compare that to the overall percentage of players by each conference PAC 12 - 18.3% SEC - 22.1% B1G - 16% ACC - 17.1% Big 12 - 13.2%
Their QB play was the only liability they've had under Saban. As an LSU fan I watch a lot of SEC football every year and it's amazing how poor the QB is in that conference.
They aren't even backups in the NFL. Look at how good the players around them were, it's insane. The SEC hasn't had much in the way of QBs since Matt Stafford. It's really strange when you look at how good every other position is in that conference.
