Watching the AA game hurt a bit having played for Central in the AAA days. They looked like our jv team outside of a handful of guys. Especially on the lines. Seems like a better level for Central but i hope the new coach can build the program back up and get some bigger kids coming through as well.

Also: have we learned our lesson about the magic carpet and wearing cleats yet? I’d trust the home teams understand what works best on that stuff and they have a ton of guys wearing turf shoes and indoor soccer shoes on most wr and db.

Looked like a decent player. 6’5” is always intriguing. From AA, I was at the title game and Haugo is as advertised. Paye looks the part big time but doesn’t flash much. Kuntz looks the part and made some plays. Simmers I’m not sold on as a D1 player. The NSIC would be a good level for him. Maybe he proves he’s FCS caliber and portals up?

I would love to switch to the defense that USD runs. I’m sick of watching our blitzing LBs get stonewalled by OL. I’d rather rush 4 and get pressure. More like those good New York Giants teams. 3-4 is a beautiful chaos when it works but I feel the highest level of consistent defense can come from a 4-3 with a good DL.

Hopefully the players like it and it gives them a little extra juice. I think we’re mostly all on board with a silver helmet with the stripes as a nice start. Maybe a legible number on there with the stripe? It’s tough to improve over the ND classic on there.

No insight at all. My take has always been 270 should be a normal DE and 300 should be a normal NT. Throw in a couple ends who are 250 ish and athletic but the rest need to be big first. I also think we’re smallish at OLB right now which isn’t good. Need more OLBs that look like Labat

In checking out their roster they look the way I wish we’d look in the trenches. They’re bigger than us on both lines and by a lot on the DL.

Tank was probably in middle school or elementary school when that happened. We need more dudes like Broc, best DL against the run we’ve had in D1. He was an absolute wall.

I say it once every year, but that 2015 team could’ve made a run but they gotta screwed. They were steam rolling at the end of the year.

It’s a fine defense with the proper body types. We don’t recruit them though. DL in general, regardless of scheme, is too small.
