  1. I know I've said this before but I think we have too many nice guys on this team. Or at least guys who play like nice guys. We need a bunch of dogs out there. I just don't see enough of them right now.
  2. And plenty of room on campus for expansion too.
  3. I think he's got the athleticism but to be a good LB you need to be mean and physical. Kinda tough to show those qualities as a backup qb.
  4. Lawrence does pretty well at his size but it's tough for guys his size to hold up in the run game.
  5. If we were healthy at OLB we wouldn't be small. 230-240 is about right and that's where most of our top guys are. Rastas is the one that is really undersized. Being fast on the edge is fine but being too small is not. We shouldn't have a bunch of OLBs under 210lbs.
  6. Montana did not pull their starters at halftime. Nothing to ponder here.
  7. NDSU basically has their entire team in town all summer long. They make it work.
  8. Even though our guys are young, at certain positions I question the body types we have out there. Some of our DEs look like LBs. They need to add 20lbs minimum basically across the board. Our OLBs are a bunch of converted safeties with the exception of Haas and Lawrence. Even those guys could use a good 20 lbs. Haas has the frame to carry 250 no problem. ILBs are a little better with Rodgers, Larson, and Hunt. Rastas needs to add at least 30lbs. Our safeties are smallish as well. Again, 20 lbs for most of them. At corner the size of most of our guys is ok but they either need to get stronger or tougher. OLB and DE are the two biggest size concerns for me.
  9. I'd like to see him at LB. If he can move well enough and is tough enough he could be really good.
  10. Reminds me of the Hanson vs Hendrickson situation from 2012. The team felt Hendrickson was better. The coaches leaned towards Hanson.
  11. I’d play for him. For a bit there he sounded like coach Berg back at Central.
  12. Not too bad. Pretty clearly says Zim was better. Didnt exactly say he should be the backup though. http://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/4343814-another-rough-day-fighting-hawks#.WeK-Qh9IdDE.twitter
  13. Pelini iced the kicker and he missed his iced attempt. Then nailed the next one.
  14. Ott has a really nice twitch. I hope he and the other fr are hitting the weights extra hard and licking their chops to leapfrog the underachieving upperclassmen
  15. GUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCH
  16. Bennett should be by now. Same with Wilson. Our DEs should but built like Schmitz and our DTs should be like Tank +20lbs.
  17. Good. As they and we should be. Good for them to call it like it is.
  18. Poor guy. One of the unfortunate schmucks who make up the <1% of the population that are on a D1 football roster.
  19. Such better pace tonight by our guys. Last night had me worried.
  20. Tell me again how this opportunity is getting the shaft? All I see are excuses from your last two posts. He should move to TE or LB and contribute. Or quit, since his career is ruined apparently.
  21. Bold statement that he would be second string QB to prove ND kids can hack it when one just went #2 overall in the draft. If you're a relative of his, sounds like it, I would suggest he sucks it up and switches positions because he's a great athlete and can contribute elsewhere. He just can't throw. Esley Thorton from Bismark did this with great success at NDSU. Too bad they ruined his career by bringing in other QBs.
  22. Our DL don't look like Youngstown's DL. We need more beef inside.
  23. You know of any exercises that strengthen knee ligaments making them more resistant to injury?
  24. They don't clear guys to come back.
  25. Then they brought him back too soon. The contact to his knee that knocked him out wasn't much of anything.
