Honestly the best team I’ve seen was 2015 last 3 games once Studsrud came back from injury. That was a more complete team with Clive going deep and the best front 7 of the D1 era by a mile.

It all trickles down from the HC. Everything. We’ve seen his peak. And that was with a good chunk of guys from the previous coach.

We don’t have the talent though. So what are we talking about here. They haven’t changed their recruiting strategy ever. Same approach, same results. Again and again. Small front 7, can’t stop the run. Can’t recruit DBs even though the HC used to coach DBs. Non explosive WRs. It’s a recipe for….. 7-5 every year and can’t win on the road or in the playoffs.

We haven’t had any success in 10 years. Your suggestion is that we can’t afford to change?

We lose one class and some players leave. No big deal. We suck for one year but the guys that stay are the ride or die types and the culture is strengthened through that. There is not a player on the roster or verbally committed that the program can’t handle to lose. If that’s what’s best for the program even though it’s a tough pill to swallow it just is what it is. It took 2 season to fix shambles and be playoff caliber. And we are in a much better spot currently. I’m not worried about losing anyone.

People get worried about guys hitting the portal. Just think of it like a forest fire. The ground is more fertile afterward and allows for better growth to follow.
