What high school has padded leather seats, a bar area, and 2 big screens?

I agree the bleachers could be doubled in size though.

Fair point on the 2 big Screens.  Nice recent addition.  The Bar and Leather Seats do nothing for me.

What they need to do is improve the bleacher on the ends of the court. Consider building something bigger and permanent.

No chance.  The area behind the bleachers have courts behind them used for practice and camps.

  3. I crowd will also be a smaller with Hockey on TV.  Many people including me flipping between Hockey and BB on TV at home.  I'll be at the Women's game however.

Would be nice to play all home game in the Ralph.  Should be able block section's off and use curtains to create a better atmosphere.

  4. This is the first season since Bubba has been here that he has not moved the program in the right direction.  Until proven otherwise I'm going to assume Bubba is the right man for the job.  Bring back the either coach staff was Bubba's decision and if the Offence and Special Teams fail again next year that is on him. As will as if we are not in the playoffs again next year.  If we have another season next year like this year is is time to look for a replacement.

Denver has won the regular season and tournament each of the past three season and their looking for four.  Perhaps the Summit gives the previous champion team hosting rights.  Last year Denver hosted too.

If I remember correctly the Big Sky use to award the post season tourneyment to the prior year champion.  Kind of makes sense as teams can arrange hotel and travel prior the the week before.

They had to redo all of the schedules with Idaho joining and don't believe they have publicly released them, however it looks like Montana and possibly Weber have their 2018 schedules up. Both have are schedule to travel to UND next season.

    10/13 - Montana
    10/27 - Weber St

Those two don't deviate from what was originally scheduled a few years ago, but that doesn't account for Idaho and how that will affect UND yet. This was what their conference schedule was supposed to look like:

    Sept. 22 Idaho State
    Sept. 29 at Northern Colorado
    Oct. 6 Bye
    Oct. 13  Montana
    Oct. 20 at Sacramento State
    Oct. 27 Weber State
    Nov. 3 at Montana State
    Nov. 10 Portland State
    Nov. 17 at Northern Arizona

Side note: A bye in the middle of the year!!!!

Maybe it is as easy as replace Montana St with Idaho and add in the Non-conference teams.  this would be my best guess.

    8/30 - MVSU
    9/8 - @Washington
    9/15 - @SHSU

    Sept. 22 Idaho State
    Sept. 29 at Northern Colorado
    Oct. 6 Bye
    Oct. 13  Montana
    Oct. 20 at Sacramento State
    Oct. 27 Weber State
    Nov. 3 at Idaho
    Nov. 10 Portland State
    Nov. 17 at Northern Arizona

I wish these coaches would understand that a short pass is just as good as a run. As long as you stay in-bounds, you control the clock and keep your defense off the field. But no, all we seem to get is run, run, pass, punt. That ain't gonna get it done at the FCS level (or any other level).

Interesting.  One of my biggest frustration is everything they throw is short.  Never stretch the field.  Short passes don't seem to work when they load the box to stop the run.

Can’t agree with you here. Once the sensitive white people got their paws on it the game was over.

That was on it's way out for a long time.  Bottom line is that it is better to be past that than to be rehashing it all the time.

    Why?

Don't want to Rehash, but I've always thought Kelly and him were equally to blame.  I think they could have worked with the Standing Rock tribe a little more to get approval.  A lot of other school were able to get approval (granted from only the closest tribe which is BS).  As we have seen no doesn't mean no and just means not now.

Anyone in a position like that has pluses and minuses. I think his pluses are pretty impressive, even though 100% of each one can't be directly attributed to him:

    • Transitioned to Division 1, which has had its ups and downs
    • Got UND into the Big Sky when the only other option available would have killed football
    • Spent a few years and finally negotiated UND into the Summit/MVFC, bringing down travel expenses and getting natural rivals back on the schedule permanently
    • Created the NCHC, which immediately became the premier hockey conference in the nation, when it was obvious the WCHA was going to be controlled by schools that were not "like-minded" as UND
    • Oversaw a large portion of the fundraising and completion of the HPC
    • Immediately replaced a coach who left for the NHL with no disturbance in the program that currently brings in the most money for UND
    • Instituted full cost of attendance for all scholarship athletes to ensure programs remained competitive
    • Cut loose the anchor that was women's hockey
    • Coaching hires have largely been great
    • Did all of this while dealing with the disaster known as the nickname issue

Again, there are definitely some negatives.

    • The biggest one I have is process of replacing the football coach; appears to have settled on the right guy, but the timeline was unacceptable.
    • Some people say he isn't personable enough, I can't really speak to that as I haven't really had that experience.
    • Budget cuts probably could have been handled differently if women's hockey and corresponding cuts would have been done initially, preventing round 2, but tough to know depending on the information that was available at the time.
    • Maybe fundraising, maybe not? AD obviously plays a part in it, but is not their main job, there are people who's sole job is to do that.

Neither list is all inclusive but a pretty decent rundown.

how much of the loss of the the Sioux nickname is on him.  Personally I think a good chunk of the blame can be placed on him.

    Different how?

Just because you have the right to do something does mean it is the right thing to do.  I have never paid attention to the solders in those seats to see if they yell Sioux at the end of the anthem.  Not sure it really matters.

The examples given I don't think were from the solders that are in the seats.

There is so much division in this country and the one thing everyone it this country should be able to agree upon is they are lucky to be living in this country and should show the flag/anthem the proper respect.

You missed the point........I believe it was the blanket holding thumb sucking "I'm offended by my own shadow" crowd makes up issues on every front. You in that bucket???

Anti-country, anti-police, anti-anthem is in no way comparable to yelling "Sioux".

Just keep wearing your Kaepernick jersey the next time you approach a veteran.......don't forget to wear your "Pigs" socks too.

Huh, this doesn't even make since.  I'm pretty sure someone against yelling during the national anthem is against what Kaepernick started..

I would love to see him in a packer uniform, too bad he is suing the NFL.

Wow, now I get it, your way or nothing!

Not at all I just thought it was funny the posts claiming that their Sioux Fan Father, Grand Fathers etc. says it is ok so there are no issues.  I stated my opinion.   I'm guessing if you asked Vet's from other fan bases or non sports fan's you would get a mix.  Some would say I fight for the right for Americans for be free and express themselves however they please.  You would also have some that would feel disrespected.     You have the right to your opinion and I'm not going to be able to change it.

My dad is also a Vietnam vet, had the exact same conversation as a kid. Both my grandfathers also fought in Korea, all three of them yelled Sioux.

Ok, not I get it.  So as long as a Vet that is also a Sioux fan thinks it is ok, than there are no issues.

Big Green, never gonna happen. They've been doing it my whole life. This is battle you're never going to win. Go move on to another issue that offends you.

Never is a long time, but I don't see anything changing for a very long time.  I'm not offended, very little offends me.  Like a stated before I'm more embarrassed for our university.

big green is captain of the pc police!!!!!!!!

    You don't know me.

For the record I think the PC stuff going on in the country is crap.  I don't see this as a PC issue.  To me it is more of a respect for the country.  It is a free country, you can do what you want.  I just think it make us look bad.

Just like NFL players can do what they want during the anthem, it sheds a bad light on the NFL.
