So, how small of a margin of victory will feel like a loss?  I'd say that I'm good with any victory that isn't determined in the last few plays of the game.

For me, if the outcome is in doubt in the 4th quarter it will feel like a loss.

I think the Wild management royally screwed up with how they handled Parise.  You don't dump on a veteran leader of the team like that.  Given the results last night the message didn't motivate the boys at all.  All this did was fracture the locker room between players and coaching staff/management.  Healthy scratched a franchise player because he took an extended shift to try to make something happen?  GTFO with that crap.  The franchise players are who you WANT on the ice in crunch time.  This is isn't junior or college hockey where coaches wield absolute authority and power, this is the NHL.  You healthy scratch guys who are loafing on and off the ice, who aren't committed, who are being cancers in the locker room, sure, the players understand that.  This was just dumb.  Parise taking it like a pro, as expected.  Four years left on the contract.  Good job Wild.

I don't agree with this.  He continued to make excuses.  He screwed up and his explanation was crap.  He said we was trying to get Folino a hat trick.  You play to win the game and to help the team, not for individual teammates.  I have always liked and defended Parise because no one works as hard as he does, but he screwed up and would not admit it.

Hopefully the message was received and both the Wild and Parise move on and continue what has been a good season so far.

Losing Trey Lance was a big blow.  Just hope the Vikings are smart enough to trade up and get him in the draft.

Hell No.  That is the one thing that would make me stop watching the Vikings.  I can't root for a former NDSU QB.  Nope Never.

7 turnovers is correct. 4 picks and 3 fumbles. Not saying USD didn't play good but ISU just made waaaaay to many mistakes. ISU was up 17-0 at one point and let it slip away. Came back in the 4th and threw another terrible pass that was intercepted. USD had 7 (yes SEVEN) turnovers and only won by 7 points.

South Dakota vs #7 Illinois State Highlights | 2021 Spring College Football Highlights - YouTube

Don't like this.  They Forced 7 turnovers.  We need to take care of the ball.  They went on the road and beat a very good ISU team, doesn't matter how they got it done.  All the matters is they won.  Need to get going right away and play a complete game.

Will be interesting to see where UND end up in the polls this week. There were 13 teams ahead of #14 UND last week. Of those 13, #’s 1, 3, 7, 10, 11, and 13 all lost. #6 Nova and # 14 Albany have yet to play a game till next week.

So the way I look at it, the lowest you could legitimately put UND is 6th. But, with their win over SDSU combined with the the win over S Illinois (which is now a better win) I would not be surprised to see them at #2. Possibly 3 if you want to go JMU, Weber, and then UND. But our win was. Worst than Weber’s.

Should be interesting. All I know is we will be ranked higher than NDSU. And that makes me happy!!

Should be but I’ll believe it went I see it.

One more thing. I was really impressed with how the team did the knee thing yesterday. At first I was thinking “oh !@#$” when they knelt. But when the video then said they were going to stand for the anthem as a team I was relieved and impressed. Can’t handle that issue better than that. Great job to the program on that.

So did they kneel before then all stand once the anthem started ?

So no one’s going to mention UND jumped to #14 in the STATS poll?

Too big of a jump.  I just hope the players heads don't get too big.  They still have a lot to prove.  Seen too many times over the years that we pick up what seems to be a huge win and it turns out the opponent was not as good as thought.  Go out and beat SDSU this weekend and prove last week was not a fluke.

  8. When was the last time before yesterday that football home attendance was greater than hockey home attendance?  I was pleasantly surprised as many fans turned out for football after seeing the struggles hockey has had.

Which raises the question, in a Duluth vs. Denver match (in an arena where you don't want an asteroid to hit) who do you root for?

Rooting for Denver’s season to end.  Unless Duluth slips next couple weeks they make NCAA tournament win or lose

Still lots of tickets for next weekends game (and the other games as well).  So what is keeping people from buying tickets?  Is it the obvious answer of COVID and people not wanting to be in crowds?  The ticket price? The fact that the atmosphere will be pretty dead?  Just surprised that so many tickets still remain.

All of this, plus that fact you are going to need to wear a mask.

Because throwing the ball always means you are a leader? I get this is often the case, but when you have nothing but Freshman, they would have to be pretty exceptional in the leadership department.

If you’re a QB you better be a leader.  Good point about all being freshman.

  12. Love what Wes did.  This is on Berry, Chaves and Armacost.  They are the leaders and they should have sat JBD and Weatherby.  They all turned their back on Mitchel Miller after taking a chance on him.  Berry knew his past and he brought him on the team.  Berry should be out door if Armacost and Chaves has not on board.  Once you made the commitment you need to stick with him.  He did nothing wrong after they brought him in.

Now these 3 guys are costing the university a bunch of money at a time when they need it most.

People not happy about players kneeling during the anthem yet so many fans have zero issue shouting “home of the Sioux” instead of home of the brave which many people(non-UND fans) find disrespectful. I personally don’t care that most fans do it nor do I care about the kneeling. It is what it is. /shrug

Both are disrespectful.  I’m against both.  It’s embarrassing that our fan base still yells Sioux at the end of National Anthem

Why not POD CC, Denver, Miami, and W. Michigan in 1 POD and UND, UMD, St Cloud, and Omaha in the other?  CC Denver, Miami and W. Michigan already will need to fly to almost all games.  The 2nd POD could drive and save travel costs.  Seems strange.

Oh Well.  Glad to see hockey back.

Am I reading this correctly? We’ll get 10 UND/DU games or “division” games?

Or will they play them 6 times for the year? Kind of confusing

Either 6 or 8 times depending on if they play in the POD in Omaha.  They will play 6 games after the new year against Omaha, Denver and CC. In addition they will play 2 games in the pod vs CC, Omaha, or Denver.
