Freakin' A, St. Louis sneaks one by Kipper to end it, not even a minute into second OT. The way the Lightning was skating, Calgery should have had it cause they was looking dead. I was half looking for St. Louis to pass out there on his post-game interview with CBC. Also, anybody notice that St. Louis looks a lot like the goalie from Slapshot??

If not in Calgery, somebody else would be willing to snatch him up very quickly!! I think he would look very nice in a Redwings jersey.

(I have an idea of one team y'all would like to see again. ) Not that it should matter, I hope, but if you want to go all the way to the NC, the Northwest should meet the Southwest, which would then face the winner of the Northeast-Southeast matchup. I wouldn't hold my breath that much about that northeast team, being that the GLIAC is now in the Northwest. Oh, and just a reminder, the BISON are D1-AA provisional, and don't have a post season to be looking forward too.

Exactly!! The Canadians broadcast a lot more events all the time, and they do a much better job of doing anyways. They even will talk about the up and coming guys that are a few years away yet. On the networks here in the states, the brodcasters are either washed up hockey players, or guys that are just there until another job opens up. I think if they just started to broadcast a few more games, say like on *Saturday Night*, they would be able to build up a better TV viewership. Another thing the league should think about is to adjust its schedule slightly so that its not so in sync with the NBA. They could start up a month earlier, and be ready, rearing to go right after March Madness is over, with the Quest for the cup.

Exactly!! The young bloods have all grown up wearing a sheild on their lids. So it would be the easy for the league to grandfather them in, starting oh say the 2005-06 season. Any new player that season it would be mandatory for them to wear one, while it will the player's personal choice if they started in the NHL before then. It also might help to be a bit of leverage for the league with the collective bargaining agreement thats coming up as well. There could be a lot of young guys that really need to play next year so they stand a chance to be the last grandfather in the league.

After looking at some of the pictures of Steve Yzerman's eye after he took that puck to the eye, it was suggested in another thread by Goon that he should wear a face shield next year. My question is this, Should the NHL, in the interest of safety, start requiring players to wear face shields on their head gear?
