I prefer not to live in one dumb extreme or the other.

This and other similar charts are behind the social media mask push. Snopes says the percentages are all made up. As for the CDC changing its mind to recommend masks, I'd say either they were recommending against them at first to preserve supply for medical professionals and they were always good, or they're recommending them now in a TSA-like move to simply make people feel safer. Tough to know what to believe in today's environment.

He admits he wrote inappropriate things. The "my account was hacked" defense would have placed the blame for those inappropriate messages on a hacker. -
Let me know if this should be under 2019 recruiting @UND Fan

No he didn't. Did the writer even read the tweet? -

CM blamed the caregiver, who I'm sure feels bad enough already. Good point on the nursing home, possible bad assumption on my part.
-
Agreed. And I'm surprised anyone who would consider blaming the $12/hour CNA for their elder getting sick didn't pull that elder out of the nursing home 2 months ago.
-
Something I hadn't considered before, but will this virus lead to a decline in the use of nursing homes and a return to family members taking care of their elders?
-
What is the source of this graph? I'm just wondering if the actual data is only through late April or if they really stopped having deaths.
-
Thanks. Memory is going. Edit: It's apparently changed since April 22, but the stated goal now is 4000 by the end of May. https://ndresponse.gov/sites/www/files/documents/covid-19/ND Smart Restart/8 Conditions.pdf

Wasn't the goal 2000/day in May, 4000/day in June, and 6000/day in July?

https://www.health.nd.gov/diseases-conditions/coronavirus/north-dakota-coronavirus-cases New table on the state DOH website identifies officially reported cause of death for those who died with COVID. Of the 25 deaths, 15 were COVID, 2 other, and 8 TBD.

No covid so far. Thanks. As for the preservation of life at all costs, I think the decision-makers are often more focused on stopping Coronavirus at all costs. Unfortunately those 2 aren't necessarily the same thing.

I don't think it's all suicide, murder, and OD. People are having heart attacks and strokes by themselves. People are avoiding the hospitals and missing necessary treatment. Just 2 weeks ago my girlfriend had to convince her aunt's family to take the aunt into the hospital. They were afraid of her catching the virus at the hospital because she has significant preconditions. After some arm twisting they took her in and found she'd had a heart attack. She'd be dead had she not gone to the hospital.
-
Possibly. Or it's an indicator the lockdowns are having a significantly negative effect on public health. Probably a combination.
-
Unfortunately in the food industry, if they're wearing gloves it probably just means they haven't washed or disinfected in a long time.... all while touching money, credit cards, and their face.
-
They've got ND and several other states listed as zero covid deaths. Appears to be a significant lag with their new reporting.

Bismarck parks and rec is looking at setting up its own high school aged baseball league in the absence of legion ball.

Bismarck did the same.

Just looking at the cold, unemotional numbers, does the death of a 90 year old possess the same economic impact as that of a 30 year old?

I was under the impression UND was looking at privately run apartments rather than a new dormitory.

So instead of simply telling the employee, she reported the store to the Health Department. Karen gonna Karen.
