  1. We've scared the folks with cancer and diabetes into avoiding the hospitals, so there should be room. Just need to do some retrofitting.
  2. Hence the last sentence of my prior post.
  3. Obviously we don't know. But those who tested positive now are armed with the information that they shouldn't be partying or visiting grandma for a bit. Knowledge of being positive isn't a bad thing. Should the media be blowing it out of proportion when a bunch of asymptomatic or lightly symptomatic kids show up positive? No. The community is safer now that those kids are aware of it. Information isn't a bad thing. How those in power use or react to that information is where it gets muddy.
  4. A couple years old, but relevant for the current situation, IMO.
  5. If you alert that positive individual and they don't visit grandma.
  6. Or he's concerned because 86% of the asymptomatic carriers may be unknowingly spreading the virus to their friends, classmates, coworkers, customers, and professors. When I've talked to Wynne, he seemed very hopeful regarding containment of the spread and maintenance of in-person classes. He's a realist who knows there will be cases, but wants to limit and contain those cases. What the media and helicopter moms do with his words is another story though.
  7. Attorneys can and will argue about anything as long as they're getting paid.
  8. I'm not an attorney, but doesn't this pretty clearly give him an out in this situation?
  9. Did he even get a shot off? I don't think simply carrying, or even pointing a pistol merits attempted murder. Felon in possession of a firearm though.
  10. Nothing good seems to happen after the sun goes down.
  11. Least biased and most fact-based (with support video linked throughout) thing I've seen from a national publication in a while. They omitted some details (the fact the shooter was being assaulted before and after he tripped) in the tweets of course, but the video is all there.
  12. Informative thread on the timeline here.
  13. I wish the media would start showing all the police shootings of white people.
  14. One side supports law and order while the other side supports looting and destruction. Is it really a surprise the police would be more sympathetic to one side?
  15. Did the police know he'd just shot 3 people? I'd say no, judging by how they told him to get the F out of the road as they were approaching the scene. Should the police have listened to him as he was trying to confess and turn himself in? Yes. They let their emotions and the stress of the situation cloud their vision and hearing.
  16. Interesting. I wonder how he got on the radar.
  17. I can see both sides here, both the kid defending himself and the people trying to take him down. If you were at a party, you saw someone running with a gun, and you heard a bunch of your friends yelling that the guy with the gun just killed another one of your friends at the party, wouldn't you want to take him down?
  18. As part of the defund the police movement MPLS has embraced, they should redirect some of the funds to grants for businesses to install security measures.
