  1. Won't that hurt the BSC teams in national ranking systems?
  2. I believe jdub was implying our "national rank" in spending for a women's sport must be similar to a men's sport. We're top 10 in MIH so we need to be top 6 in WIH, or something like that. NDSU funds football very well, for an FCS school, but if the comparison is made to FBS schools, they are still pretty low on the totem pole. They're probably mid-level of all D1 for football, so they just need to fund one women's sport at a mid-level compared to how other schools fund that one women's sport. Not sure how valid it is, but that's how I read jdub's post.
  3. Perhaps they are able to compare their football spending to FBS schools, in which case they don't spend much.
  4. Looking at SUU this year, it seems they prefer to run the ball and their D is mediocre against the run. UND 24-13
  5. Hmm, I must not have communicated correctly in prior post. I agree with gundy. There are 24 seeds, top 8 get a bye to round 2, of the bottom 16 the committee takes into account geography and bid amount (as gundy alluded to, they claim not to look at bids until things are regionalized, but get real). They don't regionalize like hockey with #s 9, 10, 11, and 12 each in a separate region. It is almost strictly based on geography. They heavily factor geography and bid amounts in order to lose as little money as possible.
  6. Why do we comply with every tier of Title IX when other schools just pick one to comply with?
  7. Not necessarily. Irle may have replied with "WIH is very prestigious and has Olympians. They're not going to play in a high school rink."
  8. So is there anything to this? Has REA suggested WIH move out? Or just speculation? Not attacking, actually interested.
  9. Correct. I believe they make an effort to ensure the #9 and #10 teams don't face each other (or the #23 vs #24) in round 1, but I don't think it's guaranteed. Being #9 does not guarantee you home field for the 1st round either, which is quite ridiculous IMO. I should say it's not necessarily the 8 highest bids, as geography plays a fairly large role. Nope
  10. I'd just like to preface this by saying the committee should not have had the coaches/athletes present like this. This was an ego stroking measure for Kenville, plain and simple. I don't blame Kennedy for asking the IAC to look into athletics (IT'S THEIR PURPOSE). He had been on the job for 2 months and shouldn't have been expected to already know the IAC was lead by an idiot. I do think Kennedy should have shown some leadership by putting a stop to it before the coaches had to beg for their sports. With that said, it's apparent the Herald was going to pitch a fit regardless of how the process went. http://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/4134713-tom-miller-meeting-needs-matter#.V_21lF9oMYk.twitter
  11. Last year when homecoming was October 10th and the team was 4-1 with wins over FBS Wyoming and FBS killer Portland St? Hardly seems comparable to this year.
  12. Agreed. I hope we're wrong, but there's a lot of people setting themselves up for disappointment here.
  13. Guess I'm unfamiliar with that one.
  14. EWU @ #119 SOS; NDSU @ #115; UNI at #109 http://www.usatoday.com/sports/ncaaf/sagarin/
  15. http://eversport.tv/big-sky/football/2016/10/9/north-dakota-at-sacramento-state Replay of the game is now available on Eversport. @geaux_sioux
  16. Reed seems to be able to field Dussold's punts just fine.
  17. Apparently this guy is there #1 receiver, so.....
  18. No? After they say "Move those chains" they say "Sioux suck sh*t."
  19. Same here. Searched for "baby face" with no luck.
