I am on forums. I don't represent a person with average interest in collegiate sports. Funny you mention the basketball games. The first couple had some atmosphere. The last 3 have not. At all. Ask the average college kid about the other school and you'll get a lot of comments like "ohhh.. That's right. We aren't supposed to like them."

The only fun I'll make of und is the thing about using tech school kids to fill up the dorms because the school can't. Other than that, Meh.

If your kids are in college, that means I can reasonably assume they are my age or younger. Last time the schools played I was 11. Your kids probably couldn't spell arrogance or entitlement the last time the schools played. Again, they don't like NDSU because dad taught them. The rivalry is so unbelievably real that I've had friends from up there ask every year if I can get them football tickets. They like to come cheer on the herd.

That animosity probably comes from dad. Same way it is with my family.

I've been to each of them. Fewer and fewer at the game each time. I don't think that's a coincidence.

It's carried over somewhat. But I get ticket requests annually from students up north. They'll come down, put on an ndsu shirt, and cheer. Same happens with ndsu students for hockey. Have heard Sioux suck pretty much at football. Can't recall hearing it at basketball... Except at the 2010 game. I can walk around und wearing ndsu stuff and don't get dirty looks. Most crap I ever get is a "moo u" comment. Hardly qualifies as anything like auburn/Alabama.

Do you know any young people at UND or NDSU? Any animosity between the two groups of students is essentially nonexistent. Those are your future fans/donors/etc.

Price of ticket seems indicative of what the athletic department thinks it's worth. I don't think this game's value will continue to be as high as some others think. I believe Hammersmith on bv put it well awhile back. Way too lazy to find the post but I believe the premise was that each time it's played, as long as the two are in different conferences, will be less and less of a big deal... Probably just a bigger version of the basketball game.

There are a few little ones.... You also don't see NDSU prioritize it in the athletic department.

Lol since all we have to base wrestling success is the US Olympic team, feel free to see how many of them came from the college ranks.

Not to mention that the state championships actually get pretty good attendance.

I don't think that would be bad. Big Ten schools can afford to do whatever they want.
