  1. Their core audience is local. It is a college town so of course there is a dedicated out of town / state readership. However, it's not a tourism market where mine is 70% non local / 30% local website traffic. I would guess they are the opposite. Regardless, monetizing without a paywall is very possible, just a different strategy. Edit- By local I mean the immediate region (GF, Grafton, TRF, ETC) because they are a regional newspaper.
  2. I don't think I'm going to pay $120 per year to read the Herald online. I work in media and it's not hard to monetize your website as my sales team does it every day and ours is free because of this. Full disclosure, I started my professional career at the Herald in 2008. I assume print subscriptions are dropping so that doesn't help. Digital advertising has come a LONG way since then so it's not as cut and dry as it once was but this tells me they are not growing their digital revenue at a high enough YOY percentage. In our business this is one of the last cards in the deck. I really do enjoy reading Tom and Brad but I have a hard time accepting this because it's a massive failure in my eyes...If my company did this I would be out of a job because I failed.
  3. Same here on OAR. That day our pre-party got busted...let off with a warning. Then us geniuses decided to continue the party after the concert...loud noise ordinance court date handed to us lol.
  4. For sure. It seems to me the only reason Schuster is not playing FBS is because if his height.
  5. I go with premium grainbelt after I smuggle a bunch back from hunting in October. Regular and nordeast. First half of the season it's something local around here.
  6. Solid choice on the latter...I can't do Latte's anymore. They were $13.98 a 30 rack in college so naturally that was the go to...every weekend lol.
  7. Important question here: What is your go-to game day beer?
  8. If the team follows this we are unstoppable!
  9. I laughed when I saw that, glad you caught it!
  10. There is still the hot wing pizza at Popolino's! I miss that place.
  11. Otis is still on the roster. Does that mean anything? EDIT: The 360 guys clarified that he is enrolled in school but not eligible to play.
  12. Ahhh yeah that changes things. Bummer deal because he had a lot of potential.
  13. How bad of a knee injury was it? if it was just an ACL he should be back to 100% within a year with proper rehab. I had my ACL totally redone in 2016 and the knee is so good that I sometimes forget which knee I had surgery on. I am not 19 and in game shape lol.
  14. I believe he was. Did he redshirt? If not he could be in line for a medical redshirt.
  15. good overview from the 360 guys: https://undfootball360.com/news/what-we-know-heading-into-2019-season/
  16. Stuck at DIA btw...gonna slay the walleye over the next few days if I make it to Devils..sorry about sending the convo in a different direction!
  17. I truly believe that's not the case.
  18. I'm not going to say he is locked in on Kett. I will say that this new style of offense fits Kett's style of play and is similar to other offenses he has played in. I imagine his comfort level is already far above the highest point last season.
  19. That's a good question. He played well when he was healthy. Hopefully he put on some muscle in the off season because that guy has a massive frame.
  20. Haha yeah because new jerseys cost $2,000,000+ per year!
  21. Great write up. I appreciate the effort put into this.
  22. It's official. Mid July has rolled around and I am now antsy for some football!
  23. Yes. Then next year mvfc which I believe is espn.
  24. Just scrolling through Twitter to finish the day and saw this:
  25. Agreed. Keep the green helmet for when they use the all white uniforms. I like that look.
