  1. I saw this posted over on sayanything blog and I didn't take it as a positive article, not quite a hatchet job as well. I thought it was more of a negative outlook towards rural nd and some how we are to view the rural areas losing population as being negative. I am not so sure that it is. I think the article does a good job illustrating the changing economic times and how people are moving out of the rural areas to the city.
  2. All for the games being like the NHL, meaning calling the games like that as well...
  3. I think read last spring that in the future the NCAA is looking into settling all ties. I think the shoot out was one of the ways.
  4. I am sober and I can't find any bashing.
  5. I like the NHL way. I think if you make it to OT the loser should get a point. Only problem you would have teams hooking and holding their way to ot to get the point.
  6. I would be willing to bet this guy is going to get flooded with emails from Sioux fans, I am predicting this won't go unnoticed. Anyone else going to write the guy?
  7. I don't necessarily agree with the argument that UND is going to be sent west. Especially if they put a string of impressive wins together and the fact that Miami has played a weak schedule. I think there is a chance that UND could go out east or to the Midwest, by Tourney time, especially if the Badgers and Gophers don't make the NCAA tourney and that is a big possibility. I wouldn't put my money against UND in any regional. There is too much between now and Tourney time that hasn't been decided as of yet. In fact being written off by the so called pundants or basically told they probably won't win is probably enough reason to put them over the top.
  8. Schmidt should be fired no questions asked.
  9. So this brings up a good question; who does the league answer to? Who has oversight over the league? What is the grievence policy as in the Wisconsin case?
  10. I will pose a queston to those that don't want BSU in the WCHA: ~What does UAA add to the WCHA? ~What does MSU-M add to the WCHA? ~What does SCSU add to the WCHA? All teams these teams were added after the WCHA after it was an established league. All these programs had objections to them being a member of the league by fans of some program. All have now been member of the WCHA for at least 10 seasons. I don't see what the big deal is? I would rather have BSU and say a UNO than some Canadian University become a member of the WCHA. Now there will be some travel concerns.
  11. I agree funny had heck.
  12. I would be willing to bet anyone that Big Ten Hockey Conference will not happen. Second I have a question for everone; where do you think Canaidan Universities like UBC are going to want to play if they get into division one hockey? The WCHA. I would be willling to be my next pay check (figuratively) that is where they are going to want to go.
  13. I read it some where it might have been on Brad's blog or over on USCHO.com. My memory slips me...
  14. Horrible reffing if Finley had done that Lucia would be lobbying the WCHA league office for additional punishment and commenting on how the Sioux are alway in the middle of scrums. All seriousness Bickle is a hack and will end up hurting someone if the league doesn't keep an eye on him even in the NHL they league officials are watching players that have a history of doing questonable things.
  15. OK it is a stretch but actually Niagra beat UNH as an at large team.
  16. I think they are refering to us. Since both of us are from Bemidji.
  17. Did Kozy have the flue?
  18. Yep the CHA is a weak league but BSU has beaten UMD quite a few times lately, last season the Beavers swept the dogs and this season they split with the Bull Dogs. I think RMU, Niagra and BSU are legit teams and college hockey should do what ever it take to keep them going. I am not sure how strong Huntsville is financially? Maybe someone like Scott Williams, Moose Richards or Millsy could give us a perspective on that.
  19. Nice post; BSU wouldn't bring down the league anymore than any of the other teams like MSU-M, UAA ET AL. I saw a highlight from a game in Sullivan arena and there was no one in the building. wow that is bringing a lot to the WCHA. While some claim that BSU doesn't deserve to be in the WCHA, think about this. BSU and Niagra have been to the NCAA tourney more than UAA, MTU and MSU-M the last 5-10 years. BSU too Denver to OT when they won the NCAA title. Niagra has something SCSU does not have, an NCAA win.
  20. I actually took it without editing it. I sent a copy to the Whistler last spring after I got it. It looks like he had been drinking when he wrote it.
  21. Here is a letter that I sent to the head of officials for the WCHA Here is the response that I got
  22. In hockey the puck would have to be across the goal line before the clock hit 00. In basketball the shot has to be off before the clock hits 00.
  23. I seen him over on USCHO.COM...
  24. I think it is a great idea and college hockey would be more watchable in the WCHA. The league coaches of the lower tier WCHA teams wouldn't go for it, there wouldn't be quote unquote this parity that we have right now. You would have 4-5 teams running away from the rest of the league. Look how many goals Toews has in the NHL its the lack of obstruction.
  25. One could make the argument about a lots of the schools in the WCHA, they would be called the have littles. I remember when people didn't want MSU-M to be in the leauge, I personally was opposed to it and wanted UNO to be in the league instead. I think BSU would just as good as those schools already in the WCHA. BSU coach Tom Serratore as an assistant coach at SCSU was in charge of recruiting at SCSU and could recruit at a WCHA level. To say that BSU wouldn't add anything to the WCHA is short sighted.
