Just for the record I have met a good number of NDSU fans that cheer for the Bison in Football but love Sioux hockey so it doesn't seem that much of a stretch.

Hold on now, I actually like the Gopher football team, I have for many years. Long before I ever came to UND. So I am not sure that label the biggest Sioux Homer applies in the case for college football. I have always been on record as hating the Gopher hockey team but loving their football team.

I am going to have to go with Sioux-cia on this one. I am going to cheer for the Sioux if they become the fighting Norse...

I am thinking his toughness will be an assest. I can see some Juniors sitting on the pine in favor of freshman if they don't start producing some goals.

Ok, make that "SLIM" then. The Gophers have basically said they don't want to play the FCS/Division 1AA teams anymore, I don't know if you remember that being discussed in the media. Lastly I have watched 3/4 of Minneotas games this season and they are not the same team that got beat by the Bison. After watching YSU run over the Bison I don't think Minnesota would love to either the Bison or the Sioux IMHO...

I think we would have have a chance in Division one Basketball, after what 3-1/2 to 4 years maybe in football. NDSU found out how hard it is to beat a top opponent.

I guess they could use those big pay days to pay for the logo removal...

What we are really back to is the football again and we are willing to give up the name in hopes of getting a game against Wisconsin, Iowa or Minnesota. Now mind you the chances of playing these teams is probably slim and none... That is the way I see it. I am not trying to pick a fight with anyone but that is what it appears is going on. The Univeristy is strapped for cash and hopes it will get a big pay day by getting shelled by one of these teams in a pre-season game.

All I know is that I read the settlement a few times and never saw anything that suggested that UND can just be North Dakota...

Apparently the school/University won't do it because they want Basketball and Football to host playoffs at home.

Really, I don't remember reading that language as part of the settlement.

Really that would make sense on why they are in such a hurry to get this done. Maybe we need to wait and see how the election goes.

I know they don't have to remove historical logos but it would appear that all the ones on the end of the rows as well as the ones posted around the building will have to go. I think the pro-name change people should buck up and make donations to the 1 milllion dollar fund. Also, I think that this issue will be worked out in the end. Heck the state has a huge surplus maybe they should foot the bill since the Arena benifits a big portion of the state of ND. Fact fact the REA isn't going away and they would be stupid to just sit empty. I can't speak for anyone else but you didn't piss me off.

I went to practice today and I can see why they are so defensive, they worked on defense almost the whole time I was there.

Yeah if you really think about it REA would be doing it for a small number of people... I wonder if they would like to donate the money to make the changes.
