That isn't what I meant. I was trying to make the point that I think this team and program are beginning to attract some serious interest and that our attendance numbers will be going up and not down in the future.

I share your feelings on the red-headed stepchild treatment FB has gotten over the years, but I do think it is changing. I do not believe we will have 5,500 for next Saturday's game like we did for some D-II home playoff games back in the early 2000's.

I think the red-headed stepchild treatment that FB has received over the past 30 years may have something to do with it. They probably have some negative feelings about the lack of support and respect the program gets, even during successful periods. I think it played a role in the departure of Dale Lennon in December 2007 and it is playing a role in the lack of attendance/support of recent FB alumni. That is why it is so crucial that we fill the Alerus Center on December 3rd.

And with this being the week of Thanksgiving, people are busy with travel plans or plans to have family visiting for a couple of days. Next week is the week to start pushing this game hard.

Let us remember that the game is a week and a half away and Thanksgiving weekend is coming up; they probably are thinking about going home for the last time before finals. Next week will be the week to make a big push for students to get tickets.

Okay, it is good to know they are upping the support for FB. The next concern (not now, but in a couple of years) will be keeping Bubba and/or his assistants from leaving for better jobs.

They didn't want to give up 1st downs, let alone points. There literally was nowhere to run and nowhere to hide if you were a QB or RB trying to move the ball against them. They were worth the price of admission all by themselves.

The 1996 team was loaded from top to bottom, but stumbled out of the gate with a 2-3 start (including the infamous Pat Behrns-ordered last-second touchdown in our embarrassing 26-7 Homecoming loss) and missed the playoffs. I really felt that team could have won it all if it weren't for that terrible start.

Anyone else notice that you don't have Bison trolls on this forum spewing their stupid "Bubba Gump" jokes about the hat he wears in practice? And I think I know the reason for it.....

I agree with you, it is people like geaux_sioux that are making excuses for Mussman. Can anybody verify whether or not resources given to FB have increased during Bubba's tenure? I am guessing there hasn't been a dramatic change.
