Hard to believe only 2 seasons ago this program only had 6 wins. Now we have 6 wins before December!! Credit recruiting, portal, coaching, whatever. All played a factor in turning this program around from that abysmal season.

I just watched the Hudl of Kaminski, Feeney, and Tommy.
At those equal points in time Kaminski had the strongest arm with a 50 yarder while kind of fading away and slightly across the body, Trey had the quickest release and throws the best across his body, but Tommy was slinging the ball everywhere including a 45 yarder in the air. Kaminski ran the best but Feeney does look longer than just an inch taller on the program at 6'3" (Trey)compared to 6'2"(Jerry). Again, it was surprising just how good Tommy looked coming out of High School. But watching the 4-5 years at UND he didn't put on the size and arm strength one would project from his Hudl. Goes to show in college what matters is development and your ceiling. I think it's a pretty even Feeney/Kaminski battle heading into 2024. I think Trey is 205 lbs and Jerry 200 lbs.........go to work Nate!! Tommy listed at 6' and 195 lbs and if you saw him he might not even be that big.
I may have spoken prematurely. It could be a good battle for QB1. Always good to have backup (whoever that will be) that is just as capable as the starter without any dropoff in talent. I give Trey a slight edge only because he has been here longer and has had more work with the current players and the coaches. But it will be a fun battle!!

Someday we will all see how good Elijah Klein is. Hoping he doesn't transfer out. Hoping our next QB, whoever that may be, will find a way to get him the ball. And hoping Danny will actually use him!!

Let the Trey Feeney era begin!!
Looking forward to what he can bring. He definitely has a better deep ball. As accurate on the short stuff as Tommy? We shall see. Doesn't take much to be a better runner than Tommy. Feel like Tommy ran under desperation. I think there will be more designed runs for Trey. This offense is going to look a little different next year, for the better I think.

There is a good chance a UND QB enters the portal. Who that will be, we shall see. Will be very telling of where this coaching staff is leaning towards who decides to make that decision.
Well....I guess that answers my question!!!

1. Anyone listens to McFooley? Or Dizzo?
2. That propaganda is to lure Trey Feeney south because NDSU may have a QB in the portal (Cole Payton) if Cam Miller stays for his Covid year.

The offense isn't the problem. This team averaged 31.4 PPG. No questions it's the defense. They gave up an average of 26.2 PPG. Which included 33 and 31 to bottom feeders Indiana St and Murray St respectively and 42 at home to a 4th place Big Sky team. So as much as people want to complain about quarterback play, that's not the problem. Sure, Trey has a bigger arm and might be more mobile, but 31.4 PPG is still pretty damn good.
Defensive personal needs to change, but most importantly, our scheme needs to change. It's time to retire the 3-4 defense. We have got to be one of the last schools in the country to still running it. They implemented it in the late 80's/early 90's for one reason. The to stop NDSU's option. No one does the option anymore. This would be a huge change that I think would prove to be very successful. It's time.

When was the last time a Romfo touched the ball? What happened to Redd? Why doesn’t Klein ever get targets? Questions i have been wondering the last 3-4 games.

The big question will be whether or not Bubba brings Tommy back or not. I'm sure that will take time to decide.
I'm in the boat of move on. The kid holds a lot of records, but its time. He's been here forever, gave a lot, but the offense needs new direction.
Kind of similar to the Tanner Morgan situation in Minnesota. Towards the end they knew it was time and he ended up on the bench even at the end.
Or do you bring Tommy back and say it’s an open QB competition for QB1. Make Tommy earn it. Or Trey earns it and we have a new QB. Either way, beat QB will be the starter.

7-4 and losing in the first round just isn’t acceptable anymore. Time for a change at the top.

Can’t give up 42 points at home and expect to win a playoff game.

Around 11,000 Tickets still available for NDSU playoff opener against Drake (valleynewslive.com)
Not looking much better in Fargo. They will be lucky to get over 10K.

3 hours ago, Dustin said:I actually thought game times were assigned by the NCAA and/or their broadcast partners (ESPN in this case). I had assumed we just got lucky that a previously unscheduled football game did not interfere with an already scheduled hockey game. But if UND got to pick the time, I would assume it was done so fans could easily attend both the football game and the hockey game on Saturday. Also, making a pacific time team play an early game can also be an advantage, like Johnnyboy said.
Home team picks the time for the first 2 rounds. All games are on ESPN+ so it really doesn't matter. Especially with 8 games being played on Saturday the first two weekends. There is going to be overlap. Attendance is going to be down for the football game, and hockey too. Playing at noon gives people that may be coming into town for hockey to possibly do both games with a reasonable amount of time between game. It certainly isn;t going to hurt attendance in a predictable low attendance game. But it certainly could help.
Also, messing with the Sac St. players internal clock is an added bonus!

Why did UND pick the game to start at noon? Why not keep things as close to normal as possible? (And yes, UND licks the start time).

Might stop taping over shoes. Smith tapes over both shoes. Doesn’t do anything for ankles but 2-3 inches of bottom of his shoes are covered with adhesive tape.

Elijah Klein is probably the most under utilized player in the team. Such a big body and Target out there. But he doesn’t run screens so he is never out there. The guy could be a stud and Danny doesn’t use him. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him transfer out of here next season. What a shame.

Who would UND hire?

Not sure if someone mentioned his name before, but what about Todd Hoffner from Mankato? 13 seasons coached for the Mavericks and they are 122-30 with 7 Conference titles, 9 playoff appearances, and a National Championship in 2019. Also, He was born and raised in Esmond, ND!!
