They think of "uniform" as a noun.
I'd like some respect given to its adjective meaning also: remaining the same in all cases and at all times; unchanging in form or character.

Can we get to a uniform look from a team?
If I flip on a game and can't tell who is playing by the uniform uniforms they use, I may flip to Iron Chef. Bobby Flay is always in the black chef's coat ...

    Today's secret ingredient ... SQUID!!!

The Athletic department has done a great job at making a standard look for it's athletic teams.  Tthe "North Dakota" script is unique to UND and is deffinitely recognizable.

  2. Big 10 has their tournament at one site.  Because it works much better logistically for every team to be at one site.  If you are meaning like the B1G hockey tournament, they aren't going to spread a basketball tournament with 10 teams over 3 weekends.  This is the dumbest poll I have seen on this site.

  3. If by "successfull" he means:

    - A record of 214-265-50

    - Conference standings each year: 7th, 8th, 8th, 7th, 6th, 8th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd, 4th, and 4th

    - 5 seasons (out of 15 total) team finished season with single digit wins (including a season where they went 0-27-1 in conference

    - Confernce tournament record of 9-13

    - NCAA tournament reocord of 0-2

    - ZERO Conference Championships

    - ZERO Conference Tournament Championships

    - ZERO NCAA Tournament wins

    ZERO NCAA Tournament Champsionships

.....then I guess he is dead on!!

  4. From the article:

"Robert Morris cut its men's and women's programs in May 2021 just months after the school hosted the men's Frozen Four. In December 2021, the school announced both programs would be reinstated for the 2023-24 season thanks to fundraising efforts.

Alaska Anchorage had its hockey program, along with other sports, cut in September 2020, but the team was reinstated in August 2021 following a grassroots $3 million fundraising campaign in which the NHL's Seattle Kraken were involved."

Was there any "grassroots fundraising campaign" to keep the UND womens hockey program?!!  Did anyone donate to save the program?

  5. The article did bring up a good point.  When considering adding womens hockey, or any sport, there are two big things a University must consider. Cost and demand.  Demand is something that is probabl not as important.  I mean, is there a big following for golf and tennis at Universities (mens or womens)across the country?  Not really.  But they don't cost alot to have.  One thing the Lammy Twins and the UND womens hockey aplogists stillfail to answer is how the University gets aroud the enormous cost to run just the 1 program.  "Well, the mesn program can pay for it.".  Yeah cause thats sustainable.

If the demand for womens hockey at UND or anywhere else that may be looking to add it was even average, you could justify the cost to sustain it.  But it's simply not there.  So UNd and other Universities aren't going to burden their budget for a sport that is a drain on the Athletic Department.

I don't see any reason why Hyslop needs to be demolished.  Campuses around the country have gutted and renovated historic buildings to meet the needs of the university.  As long as the structure is sound, there is no reason they can't repurpose the building.  But UND is all about tearing down.  As a graduate of 1988, I'm seeing a campus that I remember disappear.  I have worked on several different Ivy league schools and they don't tear down and rebuild, they renovate and alumni can visit and recognize the campus.  Hyslop is a beautiful building from the outside, unless it is structurally compromised it's a shame that they are even discussing demolition.

Should have just renovated the Old Ralph and raised the roof for upper deck seating.  Same thing with the Union.  Could have just slapped some fresh paint and got new carpet in the basemant and it would have looked fin.

The thing is, new students don't care about what buildings were on campus 30 years ago.  They care about the buildings they will be spending their time in over the next 4 years.  UND campus looks great now with the new buildings.  And that is what attracts new students.  In a world of declining college enrollment, Universities need to make steps like this to get students to come there.

Yup, that loss sealed the deal and UND is looking at either an 8 seed, 9 seed or 10 seed.

I think I would rather have UND be the 8 or 9 with potentially playing Oral Roberts than the 7 or 10 with the winner playing the Jacks.  We seen to match up better with ORU, plus avoiding playing SDSU in a home game for them would be much better.

I believe class b girls basketball district or regionals

So why not have the 3rd place game and Final on Friday like they are doing in the Region 1 regional at the SHAC in Fargo. Poor planning and embarrassing for the REA and UND.

  9. UND hockey has had 1 losing season since the 93-94 season. (2001-2002).  They are getting dangerously close to doing that again.   If this team doesn't get 7 more wins, it will be the 4th time in that same timespan that the team doesn't get to 20 wins on the season.  3 of those times will be under Berry in the past 6 seasons.  Sure he won a ?NAtty and 3 Penrose Cups, but the problem is the inconsistency.  And that is a problem.  And it needs to be addressed.
