  1. Here we go.......regretting not making the drive up to GF tonight
  2. im glad that line got rewarded on that parks goal. great work on that shift
  3. The team just had two weeks to prep for .....bsu. I' d say less time this week cooking up cutsie little skits for Brad Miller time and work on conditioning and putting the puck in the net. A short week and then CC........uffda
  4. It just looks to me that this Sioux team seem to have some sense of entitlement that means they don't have to work hard every shift. In fact I'm not sure this group deserves to wear the SIOUX name. They should pull on the North Dakota sweaters now.
  5. St clown is spanking the goofers Don't hang that banner just yet goldie
  6. I get the smirk and like the idea but I don't think they would go for it if they couldn't sell jerseys and merchandise with the seal on it..... "The North Dakota Great Seal is the state's only symbol that is protected by state law (Section 54-02-01 of the North Dakota Century Code). It cannot be reproduced or modified in any manner for use in any commercial applications. For more information regarding its use, contact the office of the North Dakota Secretary of State." I say the best bet is to honor our proud And thankless public servants who protect our roads every day...... http://www.nd.gov/ndhp/
  7. Sioux - Goofers ......or opening weekend of ND deer season? Rest easy Bambi....the doe tag will be sitting in the wallet, under the butt, on the couch, in front of the TV, for this one...
  8. Kohl center impressions: Friday, finally got there with 7:46 to go in third, drunken security guard wouldn't let us in with our tickets at first but I got by after a brief protest, rude as heck and wouldn't tell us where the handicapped elevator was claimed they didn't have one. They wouldn' t let my handicapped dad use the elevator we found after the game to get down from the 309 level seats, it was being "held for the coaches", him with a cane lipped down the stairs with a 80 year old lady that was also denied use of the elevator. Saturday, Different story, nice accommodating traffic help. An areana worker who witnessed the previous nights event saw my dad and came over to apologize for the incident. They gladly exchanged our regular seats for accessible seats, a few rows higher but very good views and ease of access. Great atmosphere for a half full house, clean bright place. The Wisconsin fans around us were very cordial knew hockey well, had respect for the game, traditions, the rivalry and were fun to talk to. They thanked us for traveling to the game and made for a classy fan base. I really enjoyed the game.......... plan to do it all next year too Except the 9 hour train delay.........and the loss on friday........and Saturday......
  9. Well, that was a tough one to stomach but not a bad game to watch. Didn't have to rely on the train tonight and ended up sitting in good seats. My Saturday impressions: Consistency is a paramount issue with this team, too many roller coaster swings of aggression and daze. Wisconsin will be living and dying by their goaltending this year, very poor team play in the ozone, too timid. Reffing was terrible and I mean embarrassing aweful and both ways, icings that weren't icings missed offsides, the badgers first goal came on a chance after a sioux was tripped with the puck behind badger net, no call, badger fans around me even chuckled. Sioux can not take penalties. Defensive intensity was lackluster around the net, very good around the boards, in transition and at the blue line. But in front it was uninspired, Wisconsin had many chances where they had a winger sneak backside of the d man and if a better team had those opportunities they would have buried many many more. #4 had a terrible first period. Don't know why but lammy kept falling down and mean alot and in open ice, don't know what was up with that. kristo was really head and shoulders the best player on the ice again, he looks like he's at another level puck handling . I don't know that this team deserved to wear the black yet. Goaltending is in big trouble, dell had a hot mess in front of him on most every goal and he was betrayed by poor defense but, he's better than a 5 goal on 14 shot performance and either he or eidsness need to step it up. Rumpel has got a good future in front of him Sure it's early in the season and sure they're young, and sure they lost a lot in seniors, early departures, injuries and such.......... However this is still a better team than what they are showing, Hak has got to find a way to get that out of them......and I think he will. These points in the wcha and pairwise are gonna be sorely missed come February and march,
  10. Dig deeper, you can search by train number as well. 7-27-8-28 Eastbound they are telling me now is always very bad, moving west not so much. Political I suppose it can go that direction but doesn't need to. From what I see its a no win situation for their schedule. Percentages are percentages but right now I know with 100% certainty that I'm typing this as we are meandering Towards la crosse, Not enjoying a pre game steak with my family before getting to the game. We crawled through dinky town at snails pace.......threw up a little in my mouth.
  11. So it sounded like a good idea right..... Hop on the Amtrak train and head out to Madison for the badgers series. Awesome train leaves at 2am and rolls into badger land at 1 in the afternoon,. Well if you ever think that little plan for a roadie is something you want to do........dig a little deeper and think twice especially about Amtraks 6.7% on time percentage for the eastbound empire builder. And the delays aren't just a few minutes, Nine hours that's right they're nine hours behind, so instead of catching some great Sioux hockey in the not so friendly confines of the Kohl center, we'll be following along via twitter as we chug lazily through the rolling cheese basket of the Wisconsin landscape. Sorry for the rant but Im just a bit perturbed by the whole ordeal as I lay here in a bedbug infested notell motel in bisonville awaiting a mythical silver rumor. Well I guess we'll still make Saturday nights game...............actually I guess I shouldn't so much count on that either.
  12. Who''s ready for the road trip! I can't wait, first time hitting the road and i just finished putting the final touches on the jersey for the game. I took my replica 1982 sioux jersey and added the 22 and C patch to create the perfect Eades jerse, kinda thinking I might not make too many friends in Madison but it will be a great time! If your going or see me there say hey!
  13. Grimaldi I think is the missing link in the mix of taking the team to gel and excell into the season. Any further info or rumblings on just what the injury is or timeframe on working through it?
  14. Interesting topic on an intermission interview of the local BC broadcast of the Denver @ BC game. Sideline eyecandy asks analyst if the addition of Notre Dame makes Hockey East the top conference in college hockey. Dudes take was that it actually hurts some HE teams as Notre Dame will gain a huge recruiting advantage over the HE schools in the northeast, doesn't hurt BC or BU as they get pick of the Boston crop but the others in HE it hurts. Also responds to a fan text about how a johnny come lately with no titles has so much clout in college hockey.....his response was on their great new building the perception of grandure and that a program doesn't need national titles to be a top tier team.
  15. That was a nice tip, but how is he left that alone in front of the net. Early season ooopsie, still costs a goal
  16. Up close I agree that the black numbers on the newly tweaked jerseys look not as good as last years, But on tv it really is easier to see the numbers. Although HD would solve that problem......... I don't like the wcha logo on the chest, it was nice on the bottom of the back hem. I wonder if the change was mandated. Reminds me of the 87 uniform You dont see the patch on the chest in 87 but a year or so later it is seen on the chest and I think it really takes something away from the jersey
  17. I'll be making my first long distance road trip to Madison . Taking my 5 year old with me on the train from forks to Madison to meet the grandparents for Fridays game! Gotta say it's not a bad dea on tickets, got the family 4 pack deal, 4 tickets dogs and pops for $53,.... That's pretty good really. It's upper deck but should be fun, Saturday dad and I will be there too sitting lower that night. I really can't wait, I'm planning out all the jerseys for us to wear. Im going with my 1980 replica that I'm getting the number 22 sewn on,......definitely going to be picking up a souvineer sconiee water bottle!!!
  18. I was able to pick up two as well, I was hoping to take my boy to a Sioux goph game. I guess I can now as long as we sit on opposite ends of the Ralph. There were quite a few single seats available for a very short time. I guess I just got lucky by getting them into the cart in time. It's frustrating but I understand the presale opportunities for season tickets holders, waiting list holders, you pony up a donation you should get a preference. I was hoping to get a hold a three or four singles and trade them for a pair together. Oh well, I'll work out. There really wasn't anything more available for the badgers either, kinda makes you think, will the same demand be there for the NCHL teams? Did grab a bunch of the Harvard new years eve tics, and a canadinn suite for the family! That'll be a good time for the boys. GO SIOUX
  19. I first became a Sioux fan by my dad taking me to Sioux games when I was a kid Hockey games where the best, but i remember bundling up I ten layers for football games too. For me it was the hockey games and that great atmosphere in the old ralph that will forever cement the Fighting Sioux traditions. The new Ralph has been great but my memories of the old place with my dad can't be replaced. I only hope the games I've been taking my boys to create the same level of excitement and memories.
  20. Has anybody verified the whereabouts of Pres. Kelly during the fire....I mean really........not making an accusation but ...............
  21. The ghost of Ralph?........ Maybe reacting to the end of fighting Sioux??
  22. I truly enjoyed this year, had some great times from watching the seniors all year to the great year Dell had. But I have to say the best was the game vs Robert Morris when I took my four year old son to see the Sioux hang 8 and have a blast and fall in love with Fighting Sioux Hockey. Thanks guys good luck in the pros.
