As good as the weekend was I think we really need to address the sad state of affairs that is today's young college students.
Not 1 damn dead Badger on the ice...

You're a good person.
I sent mine to a friend in GF; so far this week I have a relative that entered hospice and had another in ICU. Not gonna get there tonight.
Sorry to hear that, thats a difficult time, We'll keep your family in our prayers.

If anybody has a few extra for the exhibition tonight, and want the seats filled... the kids plan changed and ended up in town.

Fargo Force Fall Showcase this weekend. Quite a lot of AAA teams from around the country attending.
Team ND 14U through 18U playing in it. Should be some good games to see how Team ND competes against them.
Rumor has it, our old friend the Dasher Dancer has his high school team up from Colorado to play in it...

You had quite a few underclassmen head to the North Star/Sioux Falls/Shattuck of the world. The Seniors I know of are Luc Bydal (Red River), and Colton Getzlaff (Bottineau) in the SJHL, and Max Vig (Century) went to Central Oklahoma of the NAHL.
There are probably ones that I'm forgetting, but those were the main seniors.
Keup from Century left for Fox Motors as well.

A sexual assault awareness speaker claims to be sexually assaulted....color me shocked.
Reminds me of Eliza Bleu. That was a fun story to follow last year on Twitter.
Do a Google/youtube search for that one day when you're bored.
1) Never get involved in a land war with Asia.
2) Never leave valuables in a car in San Francisco.
3) Never stick your d!c$ in crazy
and 4) for the love of gAWD don't peel one off on a phone call with sexual assault awareness advocate!

Now figure out what supporting businesses they'll need and start it and make your money.
Figure a quality roadhouse with peelers on the regular would do well.
Not sure how to get a small business loan on quality sniffer' row addition would be to current establishment thou.....

So AA hockey would be Minot, Bismarck x 3, WF x 2, GF x 2 and Fargo x 3, Mandan x 1 essentially based on attendance. I don't think that's keeping anyone in the state who wants to leave unfortunately.
Shoot for 2 leagues of 12 teams each.
AA - 12 Team
GFRR. GFC. FNorth. FS/S. FDavies. WF. WFSH. Century. Legacy. BHS. Minot. Mandan.
A - 8 teams to start.
Jamestown. Williston. Dickinson. Hazen-Beulah. Bottineau. Devils Lake. Grafton. May-Port.
New teams coming
Minot North
WF - Horace
Club teams that could join:
Watford City? Langdon?
Wahpeton? Crosby?
NDHSAA changes needed.
* Fully allow JR games pre and post season as MN does
*End punishment for returning to school after a year of AAA/Academies/Jrs.
*Allow up to 38 games per school year.
Up to 3 weekends of tournaments/showcases (Up to 4 games each) - 12 Games
Play each team in league 2 times -22 Games
Tournaments 3 (potentially 4 games)
AA Tourney: 7-10 play in to 1st round
winners go to 1st round... losers of AA play loser relegation game.
1st round at home of higher seed.
Remaining 4 play at State Tourney.
A: Tourney. 7-10 play in.
1st round at higher seed host
2nd round at higher seed host.
Top 2 play at State Tourney for right to advance into AA league if they so chose.
Boom.
But really.... still not going to keep someone here if the WANT to go.

This is getting out of control for boys and girls.
So what can be done?
Game count limits seem like a big factor.. also seems like the easiest adjustment although even a 4-5 game increase cant compete with a 60 game AAA schedule....
More games vs low competition doesn't really do much either.
More games, tiered classes AA/A ... and more chances to get to MN for tournaments?..

Doubt anything will change as UND has an exclusive deal with Adidas and they will supply UND with apparel, accessories, footwear and uniforms for all their teams. This deal runs through the 24-25 season.
This may be a clue as to suppliers.
As the off ice replicas transition, They've gone to using this company to create replicas as well as Gemini it appears
Certainly not a new concept as UND has used many many different suppliers for licensed replica in the past, K1, Koronis, ...etc...

Elser, Jundt, Hale, Lincoln Keuhne....list goes on.
Pretty much entire WF Bantam AA team from a few years back.
Yep the list posted was just kids who made the choice of opting out of NDHSAA *This Year*.. going back a few years the list doubles for sure...
The fomo from that bantam team group was/is insane.... luckily there's always someone around to cash a check.
To be fair, we'll have to see how it works out, some good hockey players they produced from those birthyears.... but.....for every Oneil that commits (and it's a long road from commit to seeing D1 ice) there's a couple 13-14 dozen (insert name here)s

Pretty much. They have the talent and coaching to make the tourney and possibly have some success there. On paper. Never know.
Making the tourney needs to be a minimum expectation.
Every year. Too many advantages for that not to be the expectation.
I like the chances that that minimum will be met this season.
Color me optimistic.

The AAA to NA3 or USP... is I think, all too common eventuality, that comes with some very expensive lessons in regret and properly evaluating oneself and the reality of ability vs opportunity.
..... those lessons are paid for monetarily by mommy and daddy usually but moreso by the kids in the experiences they miss.

This sure doesn’t help the west teams compete with the east teams with all that are leaving
In reality there's just as many or more that left from the EDC, but yes it decimates the strength of the West as the depth is just not there.

SJHL I believe that's where B. Panzer was last year.
Also see that Benson Grande is leaving North for some academy out east.
Add to the fact that many kids have left the state for various reasons before hitting the ice in a ND HS game, this has to be the biggest clearing house in the state of ND HS Hockey history.
Braden Panzer was in Neverville? I think.
I did a quick count today, I believe the "Just this year" count of kids leaving NDHSAA hockey for Jrs/AAA/CanJrA is at least 15...
I'll post a list soon, a lil' birdie told me it may not be done yet.
