UND's rushing defense may be the best in the FCS for the 2015 season. Given that, UND may be able to rush the ball just fine against most teams they play this season. Just wishful thinking, perhaps. I sure hope UND's offense is a physical, ground and pound attack. If effective, the offense will go along with the defense just perfect.

2015 UND football is going to be about defense and 14-10 score games if UND is going to be successful. Still hopeful that the running game and play-action passing game will develop more from now until the start of the season.

Until Mollberg starts practicing and can take contact, you never know. Sure hope Mollberg comes back looking great, but I doubt it's that easy. As of now, with only 2 guys competing on the field, it's Bartels. Studsrud isn't very far behind, however.

Right now, Bartels. But Studsrud, Mollberg, and even Heidlebaugh deserve the opportunity in the fall with a full compliment of WRs to try and prove themselves.

QB battle is worse than far from decided.... Neither QB this spring has looked good; a lot of missed throws. We all should hope the offensive line and running backs have improved running the ball (which fortunately I think they have) or else the offense will be atrocious once again.

Was a junior in 2014; will have one year remaining for UND.

SFI also believes the transfer to be FB/LB Jephete Matilus from the University of Minnesota. Should be able to play either FB or LB for UND, although SFI believes LB. We have 2 former UM players, not rejects. They are both very capable DI football players that wanted more playing time. To term them as rejects is absolutly asinine.

Skill spots on both offense and defense are the most open, or as you put it, are depth holes. That is, the RB/WR/DB types are the most likely to come in as true freshmen and play. The offensive linemen in the 2015 class are real talented, but I don't think any see playing time as a true freshman. Same goes for the defensive line and linebackers, although a case could be made for a true freshman linebacker to play some as a special teams guy. With that, I think the RB/WR/CB players are most likely to get a look at playing as a true Fr. The staff is always looking for an FBS transfer if it's the right fit. Definitely think at least 1 FBS transfer joins the club after spring ball, likely an offensive skill player, although any player that makes the team better is a possibility.

Nothing wrong with being cautiously optimistic, but I think you're being a bit too pessimistic here. UND football will have better depth and talent in 2015 relative to 2014, so there's no reason one can't assume UND football will be better in 2015. I certainly do not want to guarantee something like the playoffs, but barring major injury, UND should be no worse than 2014. Couple that with an easier schedule, and UND should win at least 5 to 6 games. Yes, UND lost to Weber State, but they had a true freshman QB playing. They then went on to improve, when they could have packed it in, and beat a ranked Northern Arizona team and UNC on the road. Bubba has this team improving, and although I think UND narrowly misses the playoffs in 2015, I do believe UND will have a winning record with either 6 or 7 wins. Steady improvement with high quality recruiting and teaching should be the expectation, and Bubba and his staff are living up to those expectations. 2016 should be the major breakout year, but there's no reason not to expect very good things in 2015.

Take a look at the 2015 UND football schedule; no reason UND doesn't win at least 6 games. If UND can pull out one surprise and get to 7 wins, playoffs is very much so a possibility this season.

I did catch the practice as well. Luke Stanley did have one nice deep catch that would've went for 6 on a fake end around post pattern. He has the potential to be a big receiving threat for the next 4 years for UND. I hope the injury to Reyes isn't serious. His counterpart in the secondary at safety - Jawon Johnson - looked really impressive and he had an interception in skelly work. Pairing up Reyes and Johnson at safety will only make und's defense even more impressive. Both QBs were fairly even, although I thought Bartels looked a bit better on Saturday. Lastly, I also thought Nevermann looked real quick and powerful running the ball. He wouldve been a great addition to add to Arrington and Norberg in the backfield. Bohl is a dick.

They wouldn't have to say anything at all. It's the offseason; they don't have to speak in order to not get fined (aka "the Marshawn Lynch"). Also, the GM Spielman and down-to-earth HC Zimmer have also stated they want Peterson back. Until Peterson actually states his desires publically, which he has not - his agent has, then the Vikes need to hold tight, keep the services of their all-pro player, and not condone negative behavior by allowing Peterson to get his way despite being in a position which he has zero leverage.

Locker room cancer? I doubt that is the case considering his teammates and head coach want him back and publicly have made that known. "Giving away" a player like Adrian Peterson is just something you don't do. The guy is an insane talent that has the potential for another 2000-yard type season. The Vikings need to try and get him to play for their club. Considering the Vikings have the leverage and Peterson started this whole mess, I think that Spielman is going about this the right way.

For a 1st rd pick, I think Spielman would consider it; however, that won't happen. Any team considering to do that (team in need of RB like Arizona or San Diego) would much rather draft a player like Melvin Gordon or Todd Gurley and only have to pay a fourth of what AP's contract is worth. Unless Peterson renegotiates for the trade, a 1st rd pick trade is NOT happening.

If you want the Vikings to lose, and you very well may want that, then yes. However, from GM Rick Spielman's and HC Mike Zimmer's perspective, keeping the best running backing in the league is common sense. Adding a heathy AP to the offense should certainly afford the Vikings an extra win or two, giving them a winning record and a shot at the playoffs.

If the petition numbers increase accordingly, I can't say I would be all that upset. That itself, in my mind, implicitly states perhaps a change should be made. In terms of athletics, it would be beneficial; however, this is a much bigger issue. Academics and the finances of UND students and future UND students are the focus here.

If that happens I'll likely be escorted out of my seat before UND even kicks the PAT.

Sounds like there is a lot more give and take between the offense and defense in the scrimmages this spring season. I don't expect UNDs passing game to light it up this season, but I expect the running game to hopefully improve, and it appears that it has with more OL experience and an upgrade at halfback with Arrington. Und's defense will be tough and the strength of the team, and with an improved running game, UND will definitely be a better team in 2015.

Of course there won't be; the place will be packed to the rafters. NDSU fans are as excited as anyone for this game, but they just tell themselves not to show it in a pathetic attempt to somehow upset UND fans.

Between the poor 2014-15 record and mass exodus of players and coaches, I honestly don't have any lofty expectations for 2015-16. Will enjoy any success the MBB program happens to squeak out. I'm mostly upset at the expectations set by the athletic administration at UND for UND MBB. It's ridiculous and Faison needs to wake up. Having a coach go into his 10th season with a losing record is certainly questionable, and the Betty needs upgrades.

The rivalry is still very much so alive. Not playing NDSU directly in football has hurt the rivalry some, but annual games in basketball and volleyball certainly has kept it going. With UND playing NDSU this upcoming season in football, the status of the rivalry is only going to escalate.

Someone's a little bothered, uhh? NDSU has done very well since moving up, that much is clear, but UND will get to where NDSU is in due time. UND has a commitment to hockey which has slowed the support to football and basketball a bit, but it's coming around. As for the rivalry and it's discontinuance ON THE SCHEDULE , get over it. UND will ALWAYS be NDSU's number one rival and NDSU supporters looked/ look like idiots for denying that. It should be on the schedule every year, and NDSU's arrogance is as much to blame for that as UND's mindset in the mid 2000s.
