  1. Eastern Washington up 13-3 at half versus Northern Colorado. Idaho State leads Southern Utah (UND's opponent next week) 14-7 in the 2nd quarter.
  2. Very good points and they support moving the student section. As for looking good on tv, I do appreciate that to a certain degree. In fact, having a good college football atmosphere includes having a good looking football venue in terms of attendance. That "look" affects recruiting, believe it or not. Recruits want to play for a school where the fans support the student-athletes, and when they see a bunch of empty seats at the 50 yd line where the student section is, well, that's not good.
  3. For what its worth, season ticket holders pay a lot of "athletics fees" too. I'm simply asking that the student sections be reduced in size or moved over a few sections. I'm quite certain either one of those moves wouldn't make student attendance any worse.
  4. Well they're sure acting prideful and showing up in bunches, aren't they?
  5. A section on the 50 yard line should not be empty; it makes the Alerus and UND football look bad. Student sections should be placed on the 20 or 30 yard line, just like NDSU. Then, the students can still chant inappropriate things at the opposing team if they wish. No reason to have a huge section of empty seats at midfield! That is so idiotic and irrational it truthfully upsets me.
  6. However, it is possible for 7-win teams to get in the playoffs! Just accept it and move along. This season, if UND won 7 games and one was against #2 EWU they probably wouldn't make the playoffs, but if Montana or MSU falters a bit in the end, UND might. Stop repeating the obvious. Beating FBS schools are good accomplishments, but they still need to be normalized. NDSU's wins vs MAC schools were not that big of a deal. Even if UND beat a team like Bowling Green or Eastern Michigan, I don't think UND fans would get too crazy. Winning in the playoffs is still the ultimate goal. We know moo U has beat some good Big 12 teams, but now, just calm down and stop getting all defensive because you presume UND is "jealous". We're not jealous of your "only-football" Ag school at all, trust me. Lastly, stop acting like you're some FCS playoff committee member. You may be an alumnus of a very good FCS football school, but you're still not in a position to preach.
  7. Add in phase II (whenever that gets completed I don't know) and, yes, UND will have the larger facility. I just can't help but imagine how huge this facility will be for recruiting and "awing" recruits who perhaps aren't familiar with UND football (out of region recruits).
  8. First thing that comes to mind when I read things like this: decrease the size of the student section! Those people that sit over on the 30 and 20 yard lines would love to move over to the other side and sit at the 50, so I don't buy that garbage about how there isn't a big enough demand yet. Until the students are always packed in, they shouldn't get a bunch of the best seats just so they can stay empty for half of the football game.
  9. Defense may have all same players from 2013 to 2014 but the defensive results are night and day. Mussman and his staff were not a DI staff. Bubba and his staff, on the other hand, are a DI staff. Simple as that.
  10. With how well UND's defense has played, particularly at home, it's hard to say that Washington has a better defense after they gave up 52 to Eastern Washington. Now, on the road, UND's defense has faltered some because of horrible performances by the offense. Another thing to factor in is the way UND plays football; they drag out games and play the field position game in order to keep games close and not high scoring. All in all, Eastern Washington won't score 52 versus UND (at least I sure hope not!).
  11. sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Harry-Momoh-143291 Looks like a good addition. Adding a variety of capable DI talents is a real good way to build a team; also helps they're local.
  12. I expect playoffs next season, but I'm not gonna jump to any conclusions and skip out on the remainder of this season. UND has a solid chance of going 7-5; that wouldn't mean playoffs in 2014, but likely playoffs in 2015. Montana State at home and Portland State on the road are unbeatable? Did you watch this year's games vs the Montana schools? UND is not in a position anymore to just write-off a chance of winning against certain conference teams; Bubba essentially already has UND in a position to play with every BSC team.
  13. Be a real good addition to the class. Bubba and company have this thing rolling both on and off the field (recruiting). Go UND!
  14. UND has played well in every conference game so far, so yes, we are allowed to talk about hypothetically reaching the playoffs. And if you don't think beating the #2 team in the country would earn UND respect, then you're more bias than I thought. Didn't NDSU gain respect by UPSETTING Kansas State?? Upsets earn respect because good things usually follow. Try not be so one-sided; you're not fooling anybody.
  15. Yet Weber State is a decent football team? You jokers just don't get it.
  16. No sh*t UND does that and there on a road to possibly 8-4 and 6-2 in the conference
  17. If that 7-5 team beat the #2 team in the country, then they would have a shot.
  18. Still work to be done. Need to beat a 1-win SUU team first, and then play tough and try to take down the juggernaut that is Eastern Washington. If UND does those two things over the next 3 weeks, then there will be respect.
  19. If UND goes 7-5 with a loss to Eastern Washington, it would be difficult for UND to get in but they would still have a chance. However, you're completely off on the situation if UND wins out. At 8-4 with a win over Eastern Washington, UND would DEFINITELY make the playoffs; they would be 6-2 in the conference meaning they would end up top 3 over either MSU, Montana, or EWU. Of course, so much of this is hypothetical. I'm just waiting to see how UND recovers from their injuries and plays in a couple weeks at Southern Utah. I certainly hope they grind out a win vs. the 1 win SUU team.
  20. Obviously UND needs to score, but having a ball-control offense and defense that disrupts the rhythm of these spread, up-tempo offenses goes a long way. Also, causing turnovers can even up a game real quick by giving offenses (even struggling offenses like UND) a short field and many "easier" opportunities.
  21. If UND is going to win football games this season, my gut feeling is that it will be despite of Joe Mollberg. Bubba doesn't want a controversy in the locker room and that is why he is sticking with the guy he and his staff originally named the starter. Simple as that. UND, like they have done already, will need to win games by playing very good defense and special teams, and running the ball/not turning the ball over on offense. I have my doubts with Mollberg, because he just makes too many mistakes. Obviously, he can improve and I surely hope he does. The beginning of the Portland State game did look promising. Nevertheless, I feel Bartels is the better QB right now, going off of last season and this season. Bartels avoids the big mistake better than Mollberg, which is a big thing to consider, and I think most coaches around the country would agree with that. Bottom line, UND has two weeks to heal up and prepare for an SUU team that has only one win on the season. I expect UND, regardless of who the QB is, to go down to Utah and get their 4th win of the season. Of course, it won't be easy as UND has yet to win on the road this season. Go UND!
  22. 16 points vs. Robert Morris Shut out vs Missouri State 6 offensive pts vs Stony Brook 11 offensive pts vs Montana State 8 offensive pts vs. Montana UND's offense has work to do. Scoring 24 against Portland State was nice to see, but even 7 of those came via special teams and the QB who orchestrated it all is now going back to the bench. Lots of work left for the UND offense to do.
  23. It's time for people to put the Stony Brook "jokes" to bed because apparently those assertions made earlier when UND played SB weren't so off after all. Stony Brook is a lot like UND; really good defense with a really bad offense.
  24. Per Tim and Swyg on 1440 AM, Bubba says Mollberg will remain starting quarterback. Bubba cited the good start for Mollberg before the injury. Also, Bubba believes Mollberg is recovering well and likely will be the starter in a couple weeks vs. SUU.
