  1. UND's offensive line has been playing well the past few games. It is also great how many very capable ball-carriers UND has. I expect UND to be able to run the ball quite well today, but it is also nice to know Studsrud is playing top-notch as well. Hopefully Studsrud won't have to sling it around too much. Big thing to watch during this game, in my opinion, is the UND defense versus an offense that caused them fits AT HOME IN THE ALERUS last season. I think the UND secondary is quite superior to last year's secondary, as evidenced by the interception numbers, so UND should be able to hold down the scoring enough. GO FIGHTING HAWKS! LEAVE NO DOUBT!
  2. UND will be fine if they win out. Committee would take notice of a 9 game winning streak.
  3. If this scenario happens, then the FCS playoff committee needs to again be called out. UND would be on a 9 game winning streak with only 1 FCS loss whereas Montana would have 2 FCS losses (assuming they only lost to Poly and EWU). Always a chance Montana and/or EWU - or even UND for that matter - slips up in a matchup we don't expect. It's why they play the games. Fun argument to speculate with but UND needs to focus on themselves. Wins will earn you respect and that is what UND needs to focus on doing (winning) irregardless of the opponent. Get in to the postseason and you always have a chance.
  4. For decades, conferences have supported regional rivalries. Is UND above is? Not in my opinion; in fact, I would say it would improve UND's number of opportunities to boost their regional reputation and capture more followers. Logically, UND should be in the same conference as their primary rival, NDSU.
  5. Sometimes people need to take a step back, take off the green shades, and realize UND still has work to do within the athletic department. Basketball and football is going in the right direction, but still has to make strides. UND belongs in a conference that doesn't require flights everywhere -- it just makes sense. Fans will be able to better travel for road games and home contests will be better attended.
  6. I agree with you. UND certainly may not be favored in every FCS-to-FCS contest, but they absolutely do have a chance to win each and every contest. The confidence now with UND in each game is necessary to win championships. Bubba is injecting confidence into his program and, also, the fans which is a good sign.
  7. Considering what Idaho State has given up in terms of yards and points lately, UND should be able to run for a bunch of yards and win the time of possession battle by a ton. Defense just can't give up big plays that make it easy on the offense (like against SUU to start the game).
  8. South Dakota State offered. Great that Ott chose UND. Bubba and his staff have everything going in the right direction.
  9. If UND can maintain his commitment until February, Ott will be a high potential player for UND. Exciting stuff indeed.
  10. This is a game where UND needs to get separation in the 2nd half and blow out this horrible Idaho State team. Anything less is a disappointment for three reasons: 1) Playoff selection committee looks at trivial things like margin of victory vs poor teams. 2) Idaho State AD is on playoff selection committee -- put on a show for him. 3) Revenge.
  11. Oh how holy thou NDSU. Youre right though; they're real good.
  12. Disagree. You can see him target O'Brien and chase him down with a purpose. That purpose is especially evident with the chest bump. He knew what he was doing. Just a stupid, dirty action by #70.
  13. Not if we are ranked top 8 and above them. Anything is yet possible.
  14. Without question. I think many knew that after last season ... perhaps sooner.
  15. I figured at least kick the field goal. But that was just my thought at the time.
  16. Very true. The Alerus Center staff and marketing people at UND need to take a page from Bubba's playbook: take it day by day and keep on improving!
  17. Absolutely. I love that design.
  18. If the Alerus crowd is doing its thing and getting noisy, then I'm confident UND can definitely beat both Weber State and Northern Arizona. It's the two road games (Idaho State, Northern Colorado) that are honestly more concerning, but UND should do fine if they don't make a bunch of mistakes. One game at a time and good things are ahead. Yes, Idaho State has a decent passing attack, but that's no excuse because as a TEAM they are absolutely horrible. If the UND defense struggles some it shouldn't matter because UND's offense should honestly put up 50 points. No reason UND shouldn't win big vs Idaho State.
  19. Yeah, I see it completely differently than you, as does Bubba apparently. If someone like Connor O'Brien gets hurt on that play, which easily could've happened because of a difference in effort, is it worth it? Absolutely not. There's certain unwritten rules of gamesmanship that some dont get -- #70 is one of those clueless ones.
  20. Absolutely bush league out of SUU. Hard to condemn the entire SUU program for that one player's actions, but the way the entire SUU offense was called at the end there makes it easier. SUU's head coach should receive a nice phone call or letter regarding how inappropriate (aka fucking stupid) his team's actions were at the end. I hope the SUU program and fans (all 12 of them) enjoy the loss -- they deserve it. It could've been by more if UND wanted it to be. Although it is tempting to want UND to do more scoring, they need to stay healthy and pull the starters in games that get out of hand. Reyes' injury occured when playing while the Sac St. game was out of hand.
  21. NDSU and the Fargodome does it every down that their defense is on the field. Remember how it messed up UND's offense last year? Alerus Center and UND could easily do that to other opponents, as well.
