  1. Nebraska gashed UND on the ground and UNI also scored on a couple long runs. Tough to watch. UND needs to shore that up. Corner spot opposite of Siegel is a major concern also. UND still plays SDSU and NDSU … UND will be playing plenty of good players yet. Raise expectations. This win won’t mean anything if team doesn’t continue to improve.
  2. Students showed up. Intro could’ve been better, but was okay. Band continues to play a lot when UND is on offense. All in all, Alerus Center and UND athletic department are doing enough, but could do more.
  3. Nope, wrong. Moving students had nothing to do with this. Coming off a 5-6 season doesn’t help. And Alerus Center and UND need to improve somethings in Alerus Center, but will discuss specifics some other time.
  4. yeah, I’d go more with good day Today showed UND’s future opponents that UND has major defensive issues that need to be corrected
  5. Defense was god awful today. Offense won the game for UND. Three long touchdowns given up by UND defense … including a 1-play 70+ yard touchdown pass. Not good. Defense has some major work to do, but it can be improved …
  6. That’s fine, I expected some people to disagree. I think he’s average at best as a MVFC specialist, but he can serve multiple roles which is valuable.
  7. Even Boise has white and black alternative helmets to deviate from standard blue going with another version of a green helmet would be a waste in my opinion. Some people wouldn’t even notice. i think you go with all white or all black for a change up to the status quo - would pop out much much more
  8. Unpopular take, but I’ve never been too impressed with Skokna. Hoosman is a different type of player but overall is an upgrade. Isaiah Smith has star potential if can stay healthy. Like the 2 man backfield coming together, with some Red Wilson sprinkled in there.
  9. Well, I could say something to that effect but will hold off.
  10. I would vote for all black helmet. Would allow for “black out” game
  11. Adapt or get left behind. UND needs to stay ahead of the curve. Learn from 2004-2007 debacle (years NDSU was DI, UND stayed DII).
  12. Feeney ship is sailing fast it sounds like … but time will tell.
  13. That for the past 10+ years has been a topic of contention. UND and the Alerus Center just need to work together on it and get it right. Effort and vision (expectations), two keys pieces to a good result here and it is often lacking.
  14. I would love a statement game, but for right now I am just hoping UND wins and is the better team in the 4th quarter. I know this is an emphasis (finishing games; be better in the 4th) but need to see it come to fruition. UND’s 4th quarters, including at the Alerus Center, have been not good the past season plus.
  15. If you rewatch the game, there were called deep passes. They weren’t hit on; either missed throw or pressure/sack like you said. That’s why the average YPA stayed low. There is some truth to that low number, it needs to improve. More explosiveness = more points for our favorite team. hard to nickel-and-dime it down the entire field without a procedural penalty (especially on the road in front of 90,000) to screw up the drive. At the Alerus Center, the nickel-and-dime it plan works a bit better as long as UND offense is disciplined throughout.
  16. For 2022, you are correct. although Simon Romfo has me curious for the future Don’t sleep on the transfer portal in this day and age of college football …
  17. Uphill battle ahead of him as a throwing QB, misses on a lot of throws. Needs to work in that. he is an athlete though, always potential to use him in QB running packages or move him to different position ultimately only time will tell, but that is current outlook- still young player
  18. Don’t get me wrong, Nebraska’s 5 star receiver made the play and deserves credit. As for what UND could’ve done, just comes down to making plays sometimes. Nothing more technical than that. Some athletes are better than others. One of the reasons that receivers and defensive backs with pure talent are so highly sought after.
  19. UND defensive back screwed up against Trey Palmer for NU. It happens. 1 on 1 battles occur between the lines every game; you win some, you lose some. UND lost that 1 on 1 and it cost them big time in terms of momentum. Gotta move on and improve. As for deep shots, UND called them, just either missed the throw (on Schuster) or didn’t have enough time leading to strip sack (on offensive line). Overall, UND’s QB and OL both made mistakes on Saturday. Room to improve. 17 points not enough to win consistently. I suppose can give them a pass since 3 freshmen were starting on the line, but after several seasons, where’s the depth?
  20. I think this is a good idea. I may give it a try also.
  21. No, Freund definitely goes to the slot plenty. In fact, Belquist (last year’s leading receiver) lines up there quite a bit. I’m excited to see what Red Wilson can do this season; he’ll line up some in the slot. He looked good all fall camp and was very quick against Nebraska’s secondary. He’s got a lot of potential if he can stay healthy.
  22. Oh shut it. You’re dating yourself. Your only credential is being a Fargo bizon rep so that doesn’t mean anything. Air Force was making plays all over the field; they were just way faster and more athletic than UNI. oh, and by the way, since you know so much, you would know that defenses play against option football (meaning defensively they have adjust against players being optioned against) every single week. Options are in everyone’s playbook. Triple option, read option, jet option, inside veer, and even the newer RPO stuff. Sure the triple option flex bone packages used by the service academies are unique, but they have the same concepts. Watch the tape and stop being a know it all asshole; Air Force was getting to the edge on everything and blown assignments were only part of the program. Air Force just had way better athletes and that doesn’t say much for UNI …
