  1. Solid contribution to the discussion.
  2. The same can be said of any of these new conferences: There isn't an ideal situation like there is for the current WCHA. Let's just say, the Big 10 goes to Detroit and assume UMN is in safe NCAA position. Would I as a Gopher fan want to travel to Detroit for the conference tournament, then possibly a Regional tournament, then possibly a Frozen Four somewhere which would all include fairly extensive travel plans and $$$. Same thing can be said about UND. What if it ends up in Denver? Are Sioux fans willing to travel to Denver, then a Regional and then quite possibly a Frozen Four? As fans only so much can be expected regarding travel, I don't care how die hard you are. Bottom line as we all know it: The future sucks.
  3. I find it highly unlikely that the two conferences would want to "co-exist" on a weekend.
  4. Anyone been to cal poly for a game? I have been. I've seen more intensity at Bismarck high football games.
  5. DHG makes a big enough ass out of himself and the Bulldog hockey fan base without any pictures involved.
  6. UMN also has to cover their ass with a few in state schools, which isn't a problem for UND.
  7. How is the big sky shaking out? That's what you guys should be concerned about. I'm sure msu and Montana had decent classes like usual and it sounds as though NC had a good year if I read correctly. Regionally, NDSU, UNI and SDSU look to have done very well in the MV. All on paper of course. On a national level, that iowa transfer RB wil make an immediate impact and Sam Houston got a transfer from Boise....they were already a young team and I don't see anyone from their conference knocking them off. Throw the rankings out the door, it is all about how the kids fit in with their respective programs and players once they step foot on campus.
  8. I think Larson is a dragon, by the way. Anyway Hambone....I agree.
  9. Yes that makes sense. Has anyone heard from the family then? I guess that was my original point.
  10. Did SFI talk to Arp when they sent the original tweet? I haven't seen a quote or story anywhere from the kid or family saying he chose UND but maybe I missed it. I think it's funny it should be up to kolpack. Him and izzo have been talking to the past few verbals as quickly as possible after their commitment broke, and in many times even the UND commits. Where we're the GF reporters to talk to Arp then? How about refraining from false accusations and enjoy the kids who have decided that your school is the best fit for them.
  11. Coyle is a competitor like none other.
  12. I think you guys are putting way too much into how Izzo thinks he can affect a recruit. And I am confident that the best reporter in GF (schlossman) would say the same thing and tell you izzo does a darn nice job. Good luck on Wednesday. I'm just hoping Izzo is in Beach right now.
  13. So two tweets is a twitter battle? Lol! Izzo has said all along that horne's coach told him ndsu awhile back. 99% of bison fans knew he wasn't going to end up on campus. Mollberg made the best decision for him, no doubt. But the bison are just fine at RB and qb for quite awhile anyway. Mollberg is a great get for you guys no doubt about it.
  14. I could care less. I have never pounded my chest anywhere. Go ahead and check it out.
  15. This thread is serious? I can't wait for the links with proof of schlossman, hennessey and sweeney being critical of ND players. Get a life.
  16. I don't see why that matters. That is when the traditions started. If you wanna go that route I'm certain half of UNDs hockey team was in 5th grade or less in 2000. Who cares? The traditions started in the 70s and 80s and carry on through today.
  17. "We" and "you". Love it! I guess everyone is too stubborn to admit that both schools have accomplished quite a bit. You cannot argue with history and tradition, which both programs have in their respective sport. NDSU has made the transition in football and basketball pretty succesfully and UND has a bright future ahead of them in the Big Sky. Anyone who suggests NDSU and UND aren't rivals belongs in the state hospital. Hypothetically, if they scheduled a game at the Alerus the next season it would smash all attendance records.
  18. James Madison or Sam Houston would be a sweet addition, but I highly doubt either would be looking to travel. I'd make a call out to St Francis, they traveled to Fargo last year, I'm sure they'd be willing to take a thumping for some cash again.
  19. Hard to argue Michigan with # of titles and the consecutive years of making the NCAA streak.
  20. Hypothetically speaking, it is better for a kid to back out now rather than "pull a Coyle/Okposo" and decommit from the team halfway through the season if you ask me. If they aren't interested in the school aspect, so be it. The timing on this one is much better than the timing on JT Miller.
  21. I tailgated for 4 hours pregame, 2 post game, walked the stadium a fair amount, went on the field post-game and personally saw 1 on a kid who I assumed to look "student age." Take that for what it's worth I guess. I did see two Sioux sweatshirts and one guy in a nice brand new white under armour Sioux hoodie who was parked right next to us and partied with a bunch of Bison fans before and after the game who was a good dude just having fun who now lives in Frisco.
  22. That would be sweet if they got him the ball. Better yet would be if someone like Percy took a knee at going into the endzone and they gave Jimmy K. the ball to score. Details are a little fuzzy but isn't it kind of ironic that his final game is against the Bears? Isn't that the game where he fumbled a couple times his rookie year and it sent the fanbase into a frenzy?
  23. Given the kids family situation, you can hardly blame him for wanting to "stay home" for a couple years. Now hopefully the Wild draft him in the future.
  24. Congrats to jimmy k. Great representative of your school, the state and the upper Midwest. He did it the right way and with class even on the way out.
  25. That is every bit a stretch as the Bobcats beating UND.
