IMO, Jost stays 2 years, He stayed at Penticton 2 years and went to a lot of effort to go the NCAA route. He could have easily gone WHL if he was going to jump. I think as long as his game is developing he's in no rush to go to Colorado.

Do we always need to drum something up.... Personally I like the 1st line, or Number 1 line, or the Trump and Billy Bush line, One scores when ever he wants and the other is there to set him up.... I can't believe I said that....

I would like to see the NCHC go to a 10 team league. There needs to be some vision of what can happen in the future. I may be wrong but the ultimate health of NCAA Hockey has to be a primary consideration. Nation wide hockey is a dynamic growth sport and it would be stupid to ignore the South west as key to that growth. Hockey has taken the left cost by storm and we are seeing kids from non-traditional hockey areas in waves. I sat in the old Ralph and watched college hockey when there were 32 teams and am overjoyed that we have now doubled that. We are not there, we need to do more to nurture the growth. I hope to live to see the days when ASU and USC square off for the PAC-22 conference title. North Dakota is in a unique spot to help facilitate the growth of the sport; we can celebrate the thin air of the top of the peak or we can really help others make the climb as well. The NCHC is healthy. In my humble Opinion, What makes this conference so fun is that as many have stated, these are not big time college sports schools; but they are big time college hockey schools. Each of these universities are committed to college hockey; but none got there overnight. May I remind all that UND had its first home Ice in 1952 and it was called the "Barn." 50 years later after a stop at the Old "Ralph" they moved into the Current "Ralph." In the mean time, they collected hardware in 59, 62, 80, 82, 87, 97, and 2000 before this last banner. I'm not saying that WMU or Miami will get there, but if you have the resources and are committed, these schools have a chance. I predict that ASU and at least 3 other Southwest colleges will make the jump and be successful within 10 years. For the good of the game we love so much, making a national game of Hockey is the best banner of all. When I hear people afraid that the addition of these programs will water down the conference I chuckle, The game is great, the players are there, all that can really hurt this conference is elitism and shortsightedness. Thanks for letting me preach the sermon.

Defense: How many teams in the history of college Hockey could lose 3 D's to the NHL and still not lose one of their top 2? They may be a bit green, but they have great leadership. I would imagine that you would find a lot of college teams would love to have "our troubles" on D.

Cograts to Schmaltz.... If you got the deal, good for you!! I hear a lot of push for Tomek. What is up with that? Didn't Cam put up about a .938 save %, make finalist for Reichert award, and win a national championship? Where's the love? I like moving Bowen to defense, I don't see him as a finisher. His stats at Penticton wont blow you away, He played a lot of D there. He had one more year Jr's available and my hunch is they plan to have him play defense. 5"11 190 and lightening fast, He could be a Stetcher type.

Tournament coverage: Loved how many ways Barry (mis)pronounced both Gage Ausmus and Austin Poganski. Ironically, he was able to get Anas right!!

Am I being stupid or what? I have assumed this posting has always been UND joining the B10 as an associate member to hockey exclusively. So are we talking about full-membership admittance to the B10? If that were the case UND would be stupid not to join.... But, it is a crazy proposition, while I have no love for the B10 and/or elitism, but how could UND afford to join... The facilities would never pass B10 standards other than hockey. Yeah, I could just see it, the Gophs would go from the "big house" to Allerus. Perhaps we should propose a Co-op program, NDSU football and UND Hockey, (tongue firmly in cheek) and they might let is in the front door. IMHO we are fine in the NCHC.

I would go even further.... I love Tampa as a Frozen Four destination.... I suggest they should consider it as a permanent home of the Frozen Four.. 1. They have a modern arena that is adequate. 2. Tampa has the accommodations to host. 3. Great weather 4. Relatively easy travel 5. It is a true neutral cite game for all teams. 6. People can plan further ahead, because it is a vacation destination as well as a hockey weekend. (Just in case your team doesn't make it. Current final sites tend to favor large schools such as "Joe Louis," for Michigan, St. Paul for the Goof's, Boston for BC, BU. College hockey has grown enough that we no longer need to host at sites near major schools to assure attendance.

I think Arizona State would be great for the NCHC.... 1) if you really want to support the goal of Hockey growth in the west add them. They will recruit much better as an NCHC Team and likely be competitive within 3-5 years. 2) Yes, name recognition would help the NCHC (They are the best conference in the nation but don't really have any name schools) nationally. 3) Western Michigan and CC will have someone they can beat for a while. 4) It will be another great recruiting tool for the entire conference (who doesn't want to spend a weekend in AZ in January. 5) It forces expansion adding two to four teams ( personally prefer 2) to the NCHC. In my humble opinion, ASU joining the NCHC and being successful would improve the chance of the growth of NCAA hockey and speed that growth geometrically. Have the vision!!

People were worried last year with people leaving... What happened: 11 freshman=National Champions.... We have to reload on the fly.... Good news is we lose elite talent and replace them with elite talent!!! Expect another fantastic freshman class!!

I don't see why UND would want to join the B10.... They offer big names but little else.... What I do like about the NCHC is it kept traditional rivalries. I would prefer Denver, St. Cloud State, Duluth and UNO to anything the B10 has to offer.... Of course money talks and I don't have any idea what the financial ramifications would be joining the B10. I have little interest sitting home and holding my breath to play Ohio state, Michigan State, or Penn State. They can schedule Minny and Sconnie on the side. I'm fine with beating Michigan in the NCAA's.

At the game last night.... UND played to the competition. World Arena was half full crowd 50/50 rooting interest. Too many TV timeouts, no flow to the game. UND talent way too much for CC. UND has a much better game. They look tentative collapsing on D.
