  1. Fabbro... Good get for BU.... I hoped we had a shot at
  2. I'm following on the NCHC web site... They run good stats. It is a good sign of things to come that they are carrying play. The goal will get in the way sooner or later.
  3. Board shows he has 6 shots.... Maine has a total of 7. Sounds like this shouldn't be 1-1
  4. Tough night I can't get the game... Going to C. Springs to see them play CC at the end of the month.
  5. Conway is still listed as committed to Penn State. It is not clear what his status is. I thought he had played for Penn State and wondered why he was back at Pentictan. It makes sense, but really didn't follow it that close. It would seem that he is sitting out a year. According to my understanding of NCAA transfer rules after one year, he can play where he wants. No idea what his plans are but he and Jost are tearing up the BCHL.
  6. Fabbro stated that he wouldn't announce his choice until after the draft. We all know there is a lot of smoke and mirrors in recruiting world, but I wonder why he would wait until after the draft to commit. I know Boesser committed and decommitted to Bucky, but I don't remember if he committed to UND before or after the draft. The timing makes me kind of wonder if he has clearly committed to the NCAA. I'm not sure what other reason you would defer to make a commitment.
  7. I know this is the wrong place for this chat and maybe I'm missing the point as well, I confess to no inside knowledge, but Fabbro and Jost chose to come back to Penticton together and that same best friend committed to UND. He has four current teammates committed to UND. As we all know, Its not like UND is a bad place to play hockey and develop your game. I find it hard to believe North Dakota isn't on the short list. BTW: I heard that Jost was going to Denver and Boesser wasn't coming either.
  8. Another year of Jr. hockey. Yes perhaps he should consider bringing Loven and Tweten with him and invest another year. I don't see that happening though. By the end of this year I think he will have accomplished as much as he will really benefit in the BCHL. Also, he is very much a student athlete and I suspect he would want to be on campus at some point soon. It will be interesting to see if Fabbro commits as well (I think he will) and you wonder how much room there will be next season. Another factor, EGF hockey bleeds together and I would guess that he went to Penticton with the plan to play at UND with Colton Poolman. It would seem likely that he would like to play a year with Tucker Poolman and Ausmus. Again, caveats would be what Berry wants and needs from him, or If he would be interested in playing somewhere with Tweten and Loven for an additional year. That would be complicated as well, because I think it would depend on how serious UND is on bringing them in as well.
  9. Bowen struggling: He had not been scoring much to date but has had opportunities. He has three goals in the last three games. He was described in one article as one of the three fastest players in the BCHL with as fast of first two steps as he has seen. He is seeing some power play and lots of PK time but has been playing on the 2nd-3rd line. I watched him in high school and he clearly was much to fast for the opposition but still did not seem to score an obscene number of goals. His hands are good but he looks to get a bit of the yips and almost at times seems to be skating faster than he is able to handle the puck. He clearly will score some of the most beautiful goals but he seems to be missing the net on too many opportunities. He appears to be settling down. With his three goals, he trails the top goal scorer on the team who has potted 6. BTW, Jost doesn't have not have most. He has 5, Conway (Penn State Committed) has 6. I suspect that when he settles in and as the season progresses he will be near the top.
  10. Number of imports: The Pentictan Vees of The BCHL can have six imports. With the addition of Driscoll they now have 5, Poolman, Bowen, Donahue, and Brodzinski.
  11. Who has determined Fabbro is a frontrunner for DU. His best friend is Jost committed to UND and they decided to stay at Penticton, and is playing with Bast, Bowen, and Poolman. I thought I remembered hearing that Jost was going to DU as well. I'm not saying he is a lock at UND, but it looks to me like he is having a little fun and playing the recruiting game. Funny how players change their mind when the get inside the big-house on the prairie.
  12. Gotcha... Not sure how I hit the quote button though... Newbies... sheesh
  13. Please explain to me what violation I made? Everything I wrote was original and my thoughts. It was not a reproduction in any way. So, I'm not sure what Quote's you referred to but if I did violate rules I would be happy to have that pointed out to prevent future violations. While I've followed this post for years I have only rarely posted. I see the quote and that was inadvertent. Sorry for the confusion.
  14. Why wouldn't Bowen and Poolman want to play for Pentican? Try this on for size, they get to see a new part of the world, test themselves against top quality competition, get a good look by the NHL. They have no pressure, they have scholarships in their pockets and can play their butts off and have some fun. They aren't penned in to UND until next year, I guess it sucks to be 19 and damn good!!
  15. And in the bitter end the epitaph of the little ten season should read... "The Gophers exit without even a whimper, proving the Big10 Conference to be a bitter joke put on what were once proud hockey programs." Perhaps this might put to rest Gopher nation's fantasy that everyone wants to lace them up for the Maroon and Gold... Welcome to the 4th best team in the State of Minnesota... Ok, Maybe Bemidji would have beaten them too.
  16. Curious about other's assessment on EGF players. I watched a lot of the MN HS Tournament and EGF. Their first line was completely dominant against very good Mahtomedi and Hermantown teams. Bowen is obviously coming and my guess is that he will be a stud: but I wonder what the opinion on Tweten and Grant Loven are. I know people are in love with Tweten as a power forward, but Loven looked like he could have scored about 10 goals in that tournament and looked dominant on his own. I know its a huge jump in competition but I would love to see that line at UND. Bowen is the most explosive, Tweten is the power, and Loven looks a lot faster than I thought. What do people think the chances that whole line continue to wear green? Also on EGF, I hear about a lot of goalies in HS but No one mentions Josh Weber. What I have seen of him he looks very solid. Is there something I'm missing on him? Chances of him landing a D1 scholarship somewhere?
  17. Obviously Hakstol has to like his 15-16 class as is, and I know it depends on who stays and who goes; but who is likely to come up for next year and does UND have any wiggle room left for scholarships? Is there really anyone realistic out there that would be ice ready for next season? I have read this thread for a while and there are some poeple who have followed this much more closley than I, I'm curious to hear how many scholarships people think are likely to be offered?
  18. I'll be ok... I work in the ER's assessing suicidal people.... I don't think I need to much toughening up...LOL
