I think Im pretty reasonable on many fronts. We just happen to disagree on the cause and effect. And yes I played at NDSU in the early 70s. There was a time I didnt follow NDSU as closely as before. But when I reconnected to NDSU I was brought up to speed by people within NDSU when I asked why we didnt play you guys anymore. Others gave me a chronological timeline of the events before and after right up to you signing the current contract. A lot of the information came from this site.

Nobody got their feelings hurt. You made a business decision. NDSU made business decisions which were best for NDSU. Those decisions didnt include UND. JUst like your decision didnt include NDSU. Its is what it is. Regardless that everyone from the bad decision was gone your new AD didnt do you any favors with his attitude, negotiating style and demands. And yes the timing was very unopportune.

What was the real kicker on this whole deal was the timing. UND sat on the contract to keep playing the game until most teams had filled out their schedule. They then made the announcement at a presser without letting GT know. NDSU then had to scramble to fill their schedules. That deal right there set the tone.

I mentioned that awhile ago but somebody attached strings on that . As who should do what first etc etc.

There was no way there was going to be a game in GF under GTs watch. Period. You can call it pay back, sour grapes or whatever you want to make your self feel better. Makes no difference. It is what it is. GT wrote the contract you signed. So who really has the sour grapes? Not me.

Weber scheduled us when we needed a game. UND didnt. Cant use the scholarships as an excuse because they wouldnt of had any material effect for at least 2 years. The bottom line is it ate your lunch with NDSU scheduling everyone but you. Gene Taylor stuck it to you. Thats where your angst come from and I understand that. As they say turn about is fair play. But its time to let it go dont you think?

Missoula was great. People were amazing. We would be walking down the street and people would stop us and ask if we were being treated alright. Were we having a good time. Was there any thing we needed? We were invited to a bunch of tailgates. One group of grizz fans that we hosted last year at our tailgate rented a party bus and took us on a tour of some breweries and the grizz football stadium. After the game we had dinner and went to an ice cream place. The two lines were pretty long so we ended up talking to a bunch of folks about the game and about our stay in there town. When we ordered our ice cream and tried to pay they said it was already paid for. Only other place Ive been where the fans were as friendly was Bozeman. Great experience.

I never said you werent a better team developement wise by the end of the year. If you havent gotten better you are in trouble. But lets not forget that NDSU got better as the year went along also.
