yes it was a on random sports webpage but I'm guessing there are a few alumni and whatnot that haven't paid too much attention to this but still registered and their first time seeing the five options were recently and you would think that roughriders would stick out among the five as a suitable nickname for the flagship

just saw on sunday night football a clip of a what looks to a be a high school who looked like they might be nicknamed the fighting irish in what looks to be in an area where the university of notre dame fighting irish are...must be confusing to the locals around there.

i've said this since is went to memorial to see him practice a couple years ago...looked too big/chubby...he needs to look more like the usd qb...more lean

as much talk of nodaks trending and fighting hawks being a hot one too...it seems that most polls in the last few months seem to have RR winning everytime and sometimes easily.

talked to one alum who is gonna vote and he is going RR....talked to another alum that is voting and he is in the nodak corner....I don't hear anything about fighting hawks, sundogs, or NS...

I guess I don't get basing your nickname on "if my nickname can kill your nickname" considering the only conference we are in with the gophers is womens hockey...roughriders (cowboys) could and do kill wildcats (wsu), bobcats (msu), grizzlies(um), eagles (ewu), bears (unc) and they are in our primary conference.

I get it that the nodak people like the nostalgia about the name and maybe how it kind of like no nickname but what is it about fighting hawks that people like...you wanna be the 59 d1 school with a hawk as a logo...or is it putting fighting in front of anything gets your blood going? so then how about fighting roughriders then?
