  1. Anybody else have the webcast up only to have a black screen...I realize its 7 minutes to puck drop, but...
  2. good news is that it looks like that kid got right back up. Did he have the puck and dump it right before contact or was he away from the puck?
  3. Yeah, I disagree. I can't imagine benching that kid. On the radio last weekend it sounded like that second line was doing some tic tac toe passing and generating lots of good looks. If he doesn't put in the effort, he and the Finn might trade top6/bottom 6 roles.
  4. Thx, but I live a long way from MN these days
  5. From that video, it is hard to tell if it is shoulder high to the chest (legal) or to the head (illegal); although in the new world order you have to play at the puck...
  6. Any way to get the game online? ANyone know a source? If its broadcasting on TV, it has to be somewhere on the "inter-web"
  7. I am more excited than I've been in a few years. This team's depth of skill as well as physical constitution reminds me of the Pony Express year-
  8. He'll deliver...name the last #1 pick forward for us that didn't deliver...you can't count JT Miller who didn't show up... Oshie, Toews, Parise, Stafford, Zajac...all had pretty solid individual and team performances
  9. I was just about to post the same thing : )
  10. What is up with St Clair? Is he hurt?
  11. Duncan, Bochenski come to mind... Kozek had a hammer, but it wasnt a quick release.
  12. So, he's a first rounder- so that does mean he is that level- although tough to compare to guys who dominate at the highest level...nobody is Toews right now. That said, he's a two-year player, possibly 3, but likely 2.
  13. I agree that Pogo has top six potential. However, his NHL ceiling is bottom six, and I think it makes sense to play to that- our third line gets major minutes, and they could put up big numbers. Other teams do not have a Chyzyk or a Pogo on their third lines. This is how we win. That said, I would not be disappointed if there is chemistry with say a top line of LJ, Jewels and Pogo I always like having a talented second line that is "protected" in other words, put the youngsters out together and let them develop aka Boesser, Schmaltz and Gersich you could easily swap Wilkie and Pogo as chemistry develops
  14. Alright- Top 6: LJ, Jewels, Schmaltz, Boesser, Wilkie, Gersich For sure in lineup bottom 6: St Clair, Chyzyk, Pogo (love this as a third line btw- dominant 3rd line- (even hockey against a first line, plus against all others) Rest of bottom 6: up for grabs- Olson and Simo have a track record. Rhett and the Fin have good cred/potential D corps is legit: For sure every day: LaDue, Stecher, Ausmus, Poolman, Thompson
  15. Is the USPHL the "penal league"? Shaw was over age, I think that he was eligible last year; and as such teams weren't as worried about someone taking him off the board. I'm guessing he is on a number of teams' radars as a free-agent to watch develop at UND.
  16. "generational talent" is a bit overblown isn't it... They didn't say that about Toews, and he's done okay
  17. Toews is just ridiculous. He is always playing against the other teams' top units- either their best offensive line or best defensive line, and he simply gets the job done better than the group he is out against. What a treat he is to watch, and I love the fact that we can claim a little ownership of him...
  18. As others have called out, he has an NHL ceiling...in the case of Thompson, leaving to turn pro is about getting ice-time to try and develop through the minors. I am sure he has no delusions of NHL grandeur in the immediate term.
  19. reaching a bit, eh? I'll cut you slack, its the offseason, and Hak is gone...
  20. You can't knock Toews for first bringing the cup to his hometown (especially after they name a lake after him and award him the greatest honor in Manitoba) then to take it to a Children's hospital in the city in which he is the backbone of a revitalized program and captain. I agree that he'll bring it to GF if he wins it again, but you can't knock him for his choices.
  21. Blais played for the Gophers...an assistant could come from outside UND...I still wonder about Wardo out of Shattuck...
  22. I, for one, am very pleased with this year's performance. We did not have the top-end horses, and when Mac went down, I knew that the hockey Gods were not in our corner this year. I am disappointed, but not really... I was severely disappointed Parise's last year, All three years with Osh, and the Frattin year...those 5 are the only 5 teams that I truly believed had the horses and the true talent depth to win it all. One of those teams had Blais at the helm...
