I think Adams is an under the radar guy that is going to have a great career. I agree with Rhett, Pogo and Mismash...that is a nasty line. I like Jones between Adams and Gersich...thats our speed line After that we have parts, but I'm not sure how to assemble them. Bowen and Hoff need to play in my opinion.

He scored 4 points and was a -1 in 20 career games. He was a body. While I appreciated him- certainly at the end of last year; at the same time, you are talking about a high scoring player coming out of Pens Elite AAA who couldn't get on with a USHL team...that's a bit odd to begin with. This announcement feels like a frustrated kid bailing. I will withhold further commentary until more is known about the circumstances. I will just say thanks for your service and best of luck.

The announcement is also poorly timed...on a game day? I sure hope he didn't storm off today and quit...if he did, then the leadership in the room is really going to need to step up

Agree with you 100% on this. Anyone who watched the game saw that it looked like the ice was tilted to UND's favor. I attribute the lack of finish to nerves...first games of season, long road trip. The ice was also clearly bad. Games like this happen. We fortunately come out no worse for wear with a 1-0-1 record...still undefeated : ) The next two weekends are absolutely HUGE. We need to go 2-0 vs SLU and we must go 1-1 with the Gophers. I don't think this is too much of a stretch. For PWR, you never want to lose a H2H comparison, and it also makes a difference on your COP vs other teams in that conference that you don't play, and always factors into RPI.

When they play their angles perfectly, that tends to be where the shots go. I give credit to Mantha.

I saw at least a half-dozen high percentage shots...we score on half of those and its a 4-1 win. Sometimes the puck doesn't go in. This is not a big deal. If we respond with another dominating performance and pump some in, it will be a good start. The 2010-2011 Pony Express team- which was the best team in the country that year- also tied in the opener in Alaska with a veteran laden stud team.

I watched the game, and I did not think they played poorly at all. They were clearly the superior team. Sometimes you don't get the finish. Mantha was awesome. tie in non-conference doesn't do very much in PWR, its a missed opportunity, but not a big deal. I also contend the ice was very poor.

Really pleasantly surprised with Hoff on that first line. I agree with JJ really being the only forward that was pretty invisible. D made quite a few mistakes, but I attribute that to first time at game speed this year. Based on what I saw last night, I think you have Yon and JJ duking it out for one spot when we are looking for offense, and Gornall and Smith duking it out for that same spot when we need grit. As always, any passengers in practice or on Friday will be in street clothes.

One of those "in-between" years we had the best team in college hockey but lost in the semi-final to Michigan. This team might resemble that Pony Express team...they were deep. If Gersich can break out into a Frattin type year, and Garner and/or Pogo play the Malone/Knight role...Wolanin as Genoway...
