  1. I think it was a Starter replica. I know folks here like to get game-worn/authentics, but I can't really afford it, so replicas do the trick for me.

You got to know when to hold'em....

  2. Can't believe the team wasn't able to win a title while Corban Knight was a part of it... Especially with stats like the following: "Knight strung together a series of accomplishments throughout his college career, including a career-high 623 assists — 120 more than any other player — and posted a career high 49 points as a senior."

WOW!.....who was scoring all the goals?.....that kind of production is going to be hard to replace!
  3. I wouldn't be opposed to having another goalie brought in to push both Saunders and Gothberg.....but at no point, in Saunders first three years of college hockey, has he given the impression he wouldn't be able to stop a beach ball. Zane is very good, but he hasn't won the job yet. They will continue to battle for the job next year.

  4. Here is an interesting article from today's Herald. Essentially says that Blais has decided this team is not going to be an offensive force this year and is going to change to a more defensive style of play. My first response to that is UGH. I have seen this team go into a defensive shell in the 3rd period of the Mankato Friday game where we were up like 5-2 or so and it stunk.

I hope the whole games will not look like that. Not only boring but we weren't that good at it.

    What????
  5. How about the NHL re-seeding teams after the first round...and the Kings STILL won the cup last year. You don't think this year's Yale squad would have a chance of pulling off two wins in three games in Grand Forks? I do.

Now you do...but going into the tournament I don't think you do. But that's not what I was talking about. One of the arguments for a best of three for the first round is so you eliminate the fluke win....I'm just saying if that's the argument let's have best of three every round.
  6. A best of three series with, say, #1 North Dakota hosting #16 Yale would generate two and possibly three games of excitement in front of 10,000 fans. Or, you can reward the #1 team with a trip to Boise ID for the western regional and play one game in front of 750 fans. Which is better for the fans and the players?

OK...I will buy this if its about attendance/ atmosphere....but if the argument goes to having a best of three to try and eliminate a fluke win, I'm selling!
  7. Imagine Major League Baseball after 162 games picking the top NL team and the top AL team to play ONE GAME to determine its champion...Dave Hakstol is right, the fans AND players deserve better than stale regionals a thousand miles from the top seed's home.

Agree....but why a best of three for just the first round and then a one and done after that.....I would rather see a best of three National championship series then a first round best of three, if I had to choose one or the other.
  8. Gwoz is available & we know his teams have been able to find "it" i.e. back to back titles. By the way if you don't have "it" and don't know exactly what "it" is or what "it" looks, sounds or feels like, or where to look for "it", then how do you ever find "it"?

Therefore, shouldn't you look for someone who knows all about "it" and has found "it" b/4, as opposed to someone who doesn't know anything about "it"?

    Well, that's "it" for now.

This post is certainly full of it.
