  1. Doesn't make sense to me either, but at a minimum if Panz sat in the box his last 2 with all WMU players out, it had to be a PP for WMU. The math on this doesn't compute no matter how you look at it. Must have been some sort of Don Adam reasoning.

Each team had two minor penalties.

4 penalties called at 8:53 of the 2nd period, as follows:

    Morrison-2 for hooking

    Stewart-2 for roughing

    Panz-2 for high sticking

    Simpson-2 for roughing

The roughings could have been after the whistle coincidental, so, under that scenario, how do you play 5 on 5 for 2 minutes, then everyone gets out?

I changed the situation just a bit ....same number of penalties. Just gave Panz's roughing penalty to SImpson. Give me your interruption.
  2. This comes close to what I think, although I'd agree with the TH version, 4 on 3 UND pp for 2 minutes, both WMU players get out (on the fly, not at a whistle), then 5 on 4 WMU PP while Panz serves his second 2. No waiting for whistles to let anyone out.

I don't think there were coincidental involved, as that might change things, but I can't figure any scenario where the referees got this right.

The only thing they got wrong....if they really did let Panz out after two minutes, is not having him serve his full four minutes.
  3. Since TH was confused as I am, when Panz got a double minor, 2 Broncs got minors, all at the same time, how do the referees decide that those combined penalties warrant a 5 on 5 for 2 minutes, then all three (inc. Panz) are back out. Checked the box score, TH was correct in the penalties called? ???? ???? ????

I didn't see the game....But this is how it should have went. All penalty time cancels each other. Play is 5on5. First whistle after 2minutes, both WMU players get out. Panz serves full four minutes and gets out first whistle after his four minutes are up.
  4. Shots attempted from high quality opportunities? Hard to discern from a shot chart...was a shot from the point a pseudo-dump by a forward going off on a line change or was it a well-screened one timer on the pp...shot chart doesn't show that

Ha...I'm just giving you the facts....you can interpret them however you want :)
  5. Yeah; I just threw his name in there at the last second. I'm thinking more Ausmus/Thompson, maybe Mattson. Mattson has been prone to defensive error this year.

I thought after last weekends games that LaDue was our second best defensemen. After last night it's hard to argue against Stecher. I would like to se Simpson and LaDue together and Schmaltz with Stecher.
  6. The four freshman have been playing fine. Mattson is having issues. Sit him unless you need another d man at forward tonight. The junior line needs to start producing if some sort of way. If not throw those guys in a hat and pick last two lines. 3 games til Xmas break and all three are UND can win if guys step up. Would be a nice way to go on break

Great....Thanks for the break down. What does all of that have to do with keikla's statement to rotate LaDue?
  7. Maybe they go back to Friday night at BU with Ausmus and Panz on the fourth line and Mitch sitting.

I think that junior line will start to gel again soon enough. I would bet money OD and Mark both came back before being 100% healthy. Infuse a little health, and I think they'll start to pick it back up. That line was on fire at the beginning of the season.

I really like the overall line combos from the last night. I think the only substitution I would make is switching out Panz for St. Clair post-Christmas (assuming he's healthy by then). Maybe rotate LaDue, Ausmus, Thompson? Thompson has already shown incredible strides since being thrown in against BU, so it's hard to make him go back to sitting most games.

Rotate LaDue? He is one of our top 4 defensemen.
  8. It is called simply dressing with class. Sorry but shopping for suits at Macys does not cut it.

Macy's suits are perfectly fine. They have great sales. Something wrong with people who buy suits at Macy's?

Ha ....No there is nothing wrong with Macy's.....your Rolex line just sounded a lot like something this guy would say.
  9. Aaawwww...now we're the trendy new buzzword 'bullys.'

I don't hide behind anyone or anything, gfhockey. You know where to find me next March.

Congrats on the 3,000+ posts...although 90% of then consist of nothing other than 'fire hak?'.

Now that would be a great addition to Hoggsbreath! All challenges to fights or net worth comparisons from the men's hockey forum, from the previous year, could be settled there.
  10. Its not like the reff wasn't right there watching the play.....There was nobody in his way.

I'm not sure what the hockey east process is for grading their officials but Mr. Shea and his partner in crime were terrible all weekend. They both get an F.

Different officials than last night....but the postseason should be out of the question for Mr. Shea based on just that one play.
