I thought the calls on both teams were very soft. The refs have gone a bit overboard on slashing in particular.

IiRC the PP started pretty strong last season. But this is a great start

It is a cool old arena. I saw the Hobey presentation there when Zane was in the final three. Eichel won it that year.

The Michigan thing goes back to UND and DU having "25 year old Canadians" and Red refused to play them. To this day Michigan would play either team in their rink but won't do a return series. Screw 'em.

We need a goal - put the scoring line out there - OK 4th line, get it done!

I'm hoping for a 7-3 OOC record. Pretty achievable.

Perhaps Mutzko could learn from Mich Tech.

All in all a good start to the season. A little sloppy at times but mostly good stuff. This is going to be a fun season!

It will take a couple of years for all this to play out - lots of moving parts. I think the CHL will be primarily a league of younger players (16-18). But some players will probably not want to spend endless hours on a bus and play so many games at the expense of learning the game. That could be a niche for the USHL.

Brock Nelson, Brock Boeser, Brock Schultz. Pretty sure he's destined for greatness.
