  1. There is no one making the argument that "passing" the water on to the Canadians is fair to them. Is it fair to all the landowners and farmers in North Dakota who continue to have their land and in some cases, homes, taken away from them due to the rise in the lake? Have you seen in any of latest interviews on television with people who have lost their houses and farms this year because of the water? This isn't exactly something made up in the press, this stuff is real. For some reason, the Canadians and some in their media have tried to shape this argument into an us vs. them, Canada vs. US argument. The tired idea of "we are the little guy and you are always picking on us" thing doesn't fly with me, because there are no real winners in this whole situation.
  2. Mr. Martin's comments make me laugh and are very comical.
  3. What study can you cite showing "all that pollution" in Devils Lake? This guy will not help Canada's case at all.
  4. And this has what to do about the lakers at Engelstad?
  5. That comparison is a joke.
  6. http://www.grandforks.com/mld/grandforks/n...on/11880877.htm Herald editorial about the "fight" for the Old Engelstad.
  7. Thanks for the insight. Great post
  8. That someone seems to be Gerald Groenewold himself. He was on Mac Talk this morning and was asked about this and he said that the EERC expanding west is the only place they can expand. He said that an indoor track facility could be built anywhere. This is just my opinion, but he sounded frustrated with not being able to get the go ahead to expand in that place. This is going to be interesting.
  9. They also had a very nice article on her. What an great athlete she is going to be for UND.
  10. With all these "great" tv deals, I'm thankful for center ice and CBC.
  11. "The deal calls for no up front rights fees for the league, which is wrapping a deal with ABC/ESPN that paid it $600 million over five years. NBC and the NHL will share revenues, but only after the network makes a profit. In other words, there is no guarantee the league will get any money" Wow, I didn't realize how bad this deal was until looking into it. No up front money, no guarantee of any money, and with no money coming in from ESPN next year, the NHL is really going to take a hit financially.
  12. "NHL/NBC TV Deal Better get used to more Saturday afternoon hockey. NBC signed a deal with the NHL today to broadcast seven regular season games, some playoff games during a Saturday afternoon timeslot, and the last 2 to 5 Stanley cup games during primetime" I had forgot about that deal, but what a joke that is, I'd hardly call that a major tv deal at all.
  13. wow I hope no one else on this board stoops to your level of rhetoric.
  14. With no national television deal next season and contrary to what some of the owners want you to believe, some are starting to lose a lot of money due to this lockout, so even though I would love the Center Ice package to be free, I will believe that when I see it.
  15. The other rule changes they looked at and tested would really make the game interesting.
  16. Great post, really insightful, come on here and say something just to get everyone riled up. Just ignore it people
  17. That seems to be the "talk" on sports radio and from some "insiders", but remember the same reports that a deal had been struck and the season saved? I'll believe it when I see it.
  18. I'd say that is pretty close, but anyways, no one has said that by sticking around he is going to hurt the university intentionally. I think Pres. Kupchella has accomplished alot at UND and that has been laid out in previous posts, I just feel this has really opened the door wide for Kupchella's critics to call for his head and that kind of atmosphere will not do anyone any good.
