How much of what you two miss would have changed regardless of the flood? Much of what Local Boy mentions was gone even before I moved here in 1992.
I agree with PCM on this one. A lot of those things had changed before the flood hit.
All towns change and evolve with time, Grand Forks changed almost their whole city due to the flood, but most places change over time.

Great article, it is always fun to read things like this written about former Sioux players.

Wasn't that against Quinnipiac?
Speculating that the team might be better with different line combinations isn't an attack on the team.
I never said you were attacking the team and I agree that different line combinations should probably be looked at, just didn't agree with your assessment of Toews so far.

IMO Duncan's playing up to his level, but I haven't seen TJ or Toews up to their huge potential.
Toews didn't play up to his potential when he scored a hat trick?
Just because he has been held scoreless for a couple games shouldn't make people forget about his games previous to that.

Sorry to disagree with some of you, but Def Leppard is terrible.
Just like the "atmosphere at the Ralph" threads, hasn't this one been beaten to death before?
Obviously it is all subjective when it comes to tastes in music.

Let's clarify for everyone:
It's two refs and two lineman for a total of four officials on the ice.
It is two refs and two assistant refs actually, they call them AR's now and no longer linesman.

Honestly, I really don't enjoy any towns in North Dakota other than Fargo and Grand Forks.

So, are you suggesting the Gophers would be better off going back to the days of going 4-28 in the conference over a span of four years? This is the University of Minnesota we're talking about. They're a hockey school, and nobody expects them to be any good in football.
That is one of the funniest things I have read on here in a long time. They have been mediocre at best under Mason, but because they are not as terrible as they once were, people should be happy with Mason and the direction of the program?

Congrats on the great career. You are a classy guy who is very well respected around the league.

I don't. But oh well.
I'm with you on this one PCM

No one doubts that Rodriguez committed an unspeakable crime. But few seem ready to grant that he is but one member of a very large club that thrives on the suffering of women.
This really irritated me when I read this editorial this morning. Just because he might be "one member of a very large club" does not justify his actions one bit and to imply it is a joke.

I'm perplexed at how a class act like Brett Favre can be the target of so much hatred.
If he was a class act, he would quietly step aside and see if the Rodgers can play at QB.

I'm excited to see what Forney can do when he is healthy....thanks PCM.

And it's too bad she didn't. I read somewhere that she had a heck of shot from the point.
But just like Bochenski, I guess the knock on her was she couldn't skate.

Are you kidding? I seriously doubt once implemented the parking fee will be discontinued.
Once a fee is implemented, very rarely is it ever eliminated.

Not trying to be on the other side of the fence on this one, but when you look at the big picture of things, people are getting to park in lots reasonably close to the arena for $65/season, or $5/game. You get close to 20 games(if not more) for your $65 and they drop you off at the main door. That's closer than the $10 you need to pay to park at Suite 49 for $10/game. Yes, it may be a pinch on some people's budget. But when you figure the number of people that use those lots to park there every game, that gets to be a lot of wear and tear on the parking lots listed than there would normally be if there was no REA. Somebody needs to pay for it, it might as well be the people that use it IMO.
You could also park on a side street and walk to REA in the cold too. Whatever floats your boat. I just think it's a fair deal. Either that, or pony up some major money to park in the main lots around REA.
I understand what you are saying , but to enforce a "permit only" lot that no students or faculty are parking in and their is no shuttle that runs from that lot to the arena is ridiculous. This is going to have more people parking East of Columbia on the side streets.
-
I guess I'll pay the $5 but if I need to find elsewhere to park, I need to make plans soon for that.
You need to make plans soon?? it is tuesday, you have a couple days to figure it out
-
Great to see him stay on scholarship, I wish him the best in the future.
-
It still is cheap to park at games, but I really don't understand charging people to ride the shuttle. Parking should not be an issue in a state where wide open tracts of land are endless.

Just one more official to get in the way of the action............

I really don't understand this either, other than the Canes were not happy that he didn't sign with them when they wanted to.
