This is wild. I really don’t want to he a transfer portal team but it feels like that’s the only way we will be able to field a competitive team. Feel like we are Bobby Petrino and Missouri State right now.

I’ve been intrigued by Mier for some time. He’s got some solid offers, just wonder if they’re all still standing beings he hasn’t committed anywhere. Unreal athleticism.

Maybe the coaching staff suggested they enter the portal?

Being 5’11, which doesn’t look like he’s even that, he has everything going against him. I’ve never seen him play or even heard of him until now but caught a couple highlights. Is he a good enough shooter, athletic enough, playmaker, defender to make up for his size? To me, given his track record, it would be worth a shot for an NSIC team to certainly take a look.

Insert Jamar Brown here. Think he may not be quite to the level of shooter that Norman was but not far behind and probably equal or better everywhere else.

Agreed with this and what @SD UNDsaid with attacking a redshirt year. None of the current commits should see any playing time and if they do, it should be in the exhibitions.

It’s the offseason so there’s always bickering about stuff but this message board used to be a lot more enjoyable, with good conversations before a select few came in talking football and basketball in the last year or so.

I thought he possibly could do but I also felt his ceiling was limited. Not saying we couldn’t find a spot for him but don’t blame him since we could be returning almost everyone that took his playing time.

North Texas has been a rock solid program since McCasland has been there. I agree he will likely only go for something bigger though. It seems like a faith based school is important too.

Think he could end up at North Texas? I know that may seem like a smaller jump than anticipated but it sounds like McCasland is the lead for the Texas Tech job.

Seems like he basically has the same thoughts as most here that it was the right thing to do at this time but improvement in wins and losses need to happen.

To me, I feel like it’s a spring break thing. The only name we have had that has hit is Caleb Nero and I don’t think a single soul was anticipating him back. I think there’s a couple more that will hit. Don’t know if they’ll be big or not but I would expect by the end of next week we have a couple more names in.
