Jacksen Moni from Northern State would be a good pickup if he were to enter the portal. His 3 point % took a dip this year which could be a concern

Moni would be another tough battle to get but we have to win some of those. I’ve heard many NDSU fans hoping for him too.

I think we’ve all heard enough about the GPAC for a while. Besides Mason Walters does anyone have some other names of transfers UND should be looking at? More names will come out next week with the portal but just curious what everyone was thinking

Treyton Thompson from the Gophers is someone I had my eye on. No clue if he will transfer but wouldn’t shock me.

it would happen more if the best team goes forward...lots of upsets at the tourney in SF...move the two best teams up to the semi's to rest em and let #1 host....

ORU was the 4 seed that year. Granted it was Covid so crowds weren’t much of a factor.

There plenty of USD tampering behind this scenario. Coach Lee was fired one year after getting coach of the year - coincidence I think not.

While I think Todd Lee was a dbag and tampering may have been part of the firing, there were some other off the court extra curricular activities going on.

he was 2-9 this year from 3 and he's got some major hitches going on... Reality is his ceiling is probably a guy like cortez seales. Tez was 12-53 his sr year after going back and looking at his stats...

Sure UND would love to keep Elijah and see if he can get better.. Usually bad shooters are bad shooters and can maybe improve to below average.

If Brooks has a ceiling of Seales, that’s not bad. At least that’s someone I would rather not lose. I wouldn’t put him quite on the same level as BJ and Trey though if he does transfer.

  6. It’s hard to assume what’s going to happen but let’s just say it goes our way this offseason and our main 7 contributors return. We could be in business.

    - ORU likely won’t return their main guys, although they could which is scary.
    - SDSU will lose Dentlinger, Arians and Appel (he didn’t play this year anyways) and who knows a bigger school could poach Zeke.
    - NDSU could return really everyone so they could be scary. It really all depends on Nelson. As the forum so wisely pointed out he’s down to 3 options: enter the draft, go to a P5 or stay.
    - WIU loses Massner and Rosner. Huge holes to fill.
    - UST depends a lot on if Rohde stays. He’s a super special talent.
    - USD sounds like they could see a major overhaul but just Hayes and Archambault are out of eligibility. Think Plitzuweit, KPH and Kamateros could be gone as well.

I could touch on the others as well but they’re not as big of a worry, in my mind. I suppose Omaha can keep building with Fidler.

My whole point of going through all those teams is that there‘s certainly room to climb the stands and do it quickly. These teams in front of us have a lot of questions as well. A whole lot of what ifs but the path is there. Just trying to put some optimism out there.

I dunno about that but it’s amazing seeing the pivot from Hakstol being excoriated for not winning a Frozen Four in what, seven chances, to defending Berry for missing NCAA tournaments altogether “because three straight Penrose Cups.”

I guess I wasn’t intending on defending Berry. I would be more than fine with moving on. I just really don’t see it happening after this year.

Yeah I wonder if it has anything to do with offering Doppler at the same time. Maybe just wanted to offer them the same day since they are teammates. Hopefully when he gets on campus he'll realize what he needs to do to get minutes and can start to develop into a guy who can get minutes junior and senior year.

I think it has a lot to do with Eaglestaff. They’re best friends.

The fact they were able to get this freshman class with them knowing they have no shot at the tournament is insane. They have all the ability to become an absolute powerhouse

Agreed. They’re likely not long for the Summit.

When is St. Thomas eligible to make the NCAA tournament?

2026-27 so this coming years freshman class would be the first eligible for the tournament.

BJ is not P5 nor Minnesota level talent.. maybe St Thomas to get closer to home (ps I’m already prepping for this mentally)

Going to St. Thomas would be stupid. Lateral move (right now) and no shot at the dance. If he wants to be closer to home, may as well go to Northern Iowa. Still 3 hours away from Mankato but closer, better conference and a chance to make the dance.

Despite that, still a pretty solid chance the Freshman of the Year transfer out after the season. Again.
Rohde has been rumored to have a few B1G teams after him.

He really doesn’t belong in the Summit tbh. I don’t know how UST keeps him without the chance of going dancing. He’s on a different level than our freshman of the years in the past.

I believe everyone here would like BJ to stay and any sane person could see that he is at the right level... but the people that have these kids' ear away from the program are not sane... I would be shocked if BJ goes to Minnesota.. while his ppg average is impressive for a freshman.. his percentages are not. And he doesn't have the body for the Big 10. Plus they are going to need impact guys that are ready to go right now.

Could a valley school try to scoop him up? Probably... Does he even want to leave?? who knows!!?

Matt and T are interesting because normally JUCO sophomores have 2 years and they are out but the covid years throw a new wrinkle into that...

Brady could be done or he could play another year... with everything going on with his dad, who knows what he decides to do.

Do reid and jahni want to stay and be 9-10 on the roster?? Could they go D2 and play??

I can see 2-3 guys leaving because that is pretty normal attrition that happens to every team... regardless of who that is.. UND probably needs to get JUCO or 4 year transfers to fill that void.

I’m just going to focus on this part of your post. I, like everyone here, really hope BJ stays. The guy could develop into an absolute force in the Summit. I think he could be a real good player in the Valley too. Like you said, he has a ways to go to be an impact player in the B1G.

After last year, I would have said I hope T transfers because he was very replaceable. At the beginning of this year, I had similar thoughts anytime Norman did anything besides shoot 3s. Shows why I’m not on the coaching staff and also how much both these two improved. Having both return next year would be huge. I would guess T does but Norman will be interesting to see whether he tries to find a role on a bigger school or maybe he just hangs them up.

Brady falls into the same boat for me as I would love to have him back but he may just be ready.

Reid Grant just isn’t a D1 player. He’s a nice PG with good vision but he belongs at the D2 level. There’s no shame in that.  Think Levias could become a reliable bench player in the Summit with a full offseason of health but could find a lot of success moving down as well. I believe he’s around 21 or so as a redshirt freshman.

I will go ahead and assume we will have at least two scholarships available. I think everyone on here can agree that we need an actual 5 and a PG.
