This may have been reported elsewhere but a little bird told me that the Sioux have signed Hunter Bishop, F , Vernon Vipers (BCHL). Reason for signing is due to injury to Sioux recruit Evan Trupp.
Anyone else hear this news??
Welcome if true.

Our recruiting class isn't done yet
You have to at least give us a hint?

I seriously doubt those 2 would be paired. EJ will be with the best defender and Goli will be with a decent offensive player that shoots opposite.
If he is there.

I thought that Parise couldn't sign anywhere until after the draft? That could explain why the herald article quoted him as saying that things could change, but he is planning to stay. I could be wrong though.
From Brad Schlossman's Blog...
Parise has maintained the same thing since the season ended -- that he plans on coming back, but that it's possible that things could change. Even if he knows he's going to sign, this is the smart thing for Parise to do. Just in case something falls through, he doesn't want to forfeit his NCAA eligibility. Look for him to sign sometime next month, though. If a team signs him before July 1, they will be fined as part of the new NHL Collective Bargaining Agreement, I'm told. -
Is Matt Greene using a composite stick?

This is from "Chris's" blog.
Mario Lamoreaux-Tri-Cities(USHL)-Has a scholarship offer to North Dakota for the 2007 season if he wants it. He will have to choose between North Dakota and Red Deer of the WHL. -
Found this on "Quick Facts" from the Minnesota Hockey Journal.
Tyler Palmiscno who played in the Netherlands with Heerenveen Flyers last season and was one of the leading scorers in the league has signed to play with HC Appiano in Italy next year. -
If there's a new goalie, I suspect we won't hear about him until after we hear news that Parise has actually left. In the NFL there's a slew of free agent signings right after the draft. Does it happen that way in the NHL too? If so, maybe we won't know for sure if Parise is leaving until after the draft at some point. And only then find out about a new goalie. If there is a new goalie, it seems like it would be a bit awkward to hear a name before it is publicized that Parise is gone.
I believe that the AHL can't sign any players until July 1st.

Looks like Maine is searching for a goalie too. This is from Chris Heisenberg's blog.
Goalie John Murray, who had been attempting to gain admission to U.Maine for next season, has abandoned those efforts by signing with the OHL's Kitchener Rangers. It will be interesting to see who Maine brings in to back up Ben Bishop, with incumbent Matt Lundin leaving school to transfer elsewhere after a USHL season. One name floated about was Fairbanks (NAHL)'s Bryce Christiansen, who was a top pick of the USHL draft and figured to spend another season before entering college. -
Some funny bits in there.
mg78Mike, who is the best goalie in the NHL right now ?
Mike Commodore
It's pretty hard to argue against Martin Brodeur. He's the guy in the East. Out West, it's Miikka Kiprusoff. Those two learned a lot from me.

OLN had some highlight's from the World Championships with Ryan Malone setting up a goal, anybody heard anything about his status lately? Thanks.
Ryan plays on the 1st or 2nd line for the Penguins. His cousin Brad's status is still up in the air.

All right lets have it. Is it someone good. Is it good bye Walski?
My bet is it is goodbye Parise...

#1Hakfan is trying to steer you towards a cold trail.
Would Fairbanks Alaska be considered a "cold" trail?

I see former Moorhead goalie Beau Christian (Dave's son) was drafted by Green Bay in the USHL draft.
I suppose next year would be too soon for him? I think he would be a HS senior this year.

Thanks for the updates.

people can give as much of an opinion as they want. people can say that the person them self told them so. but, hell, Staffy told me himself he wasnt leaving this year, and he did. makes me scared about toews, cause he told me the same thing. ya never know. i jsut think that the # of people who come in and say "oh this possibly credible source told me he will most likely be gone" is rediculous because it seems that is all everyone ever says until it is official. now, not sayin people cant, i know i said that in my last post, but.....it just seems like its all a lost cause putting up here say until it is official. i appreciate people who have actual, credible inside sources. and no, they dont have to say what their source is, but there are also people who come in with heresay from nowhere (work, or around campus for instance) and dont know what they are tlaking about. the only time I personally have said either way on a player leaving was regarding Stafford and Toews because i know them enough to have held conversations with them online and in class, and so far, i was wrong on Stafford, Toews has yet to be determined. This jsut goes to show that no matter how credible your source may be, things can happen that changes that. I'm not sayin stop posting opinions. Like some of you have said, its what makes this forum spark. But, i do think it was a little rediculous to start one thread about a topic already being argued over at length in another thread. Anyways, thats just my 2 cents.....sorry if i offended anyone. And btw buckysieve, i may only be a college student, but please, juvenile?
I think this guy said it best...
On a side note, I am glad this board has recently seemed to grab the attention of some younger participants, as all opinions are welcomed here, but is there any chance some of you could try to post a little more like an adult would speak. I am not asking for perfect typing, grammar or anything close to it. Just give those of us born before 1990 a chance to follow along. -
I love the Sioux as do all of us here (well most of us) anyway I started posting about 2 months ago and I loved to post because nobody was fighting and everone talked about good thinks the hockey players have done. Now about a month ago Sioux Fans were fighting with other Sioux fans. That really makes other people mad. I have called people names on here before and it didnt take me till last night to realize that calling other Sioux fans names is stupid. I talked to Kyle Radke the other night and I asked him if he goes on here he said no because people are always fighting and stuff Let's Just all get along for the sake of SIOUX FAN HOOD

here is a link from the paper. it doesn't go into the exact detail as gordweiser, but it's close enough.

Here's a follow-up to what happened with the Stafford signing. I posted this over at USCHO...
Here's how the deal went down. Stafford was in discussions with Buffalo when he was named to the National Team for play in the IHF World Championship. On or about the 28th the Buffalo deal was agreed upon in principle and Drew flew out on Saturday the 29th to finalize it before leaving for Europe (as a matter of fact, his flight was delayed due to a flat tire, a bad omen perhaps?). Here's where the screw up occured. Since the contract includes guaranteed money, USA Hockey was supposed to have taken out an insurance policy on Drew in case of injury so Buffalo wouldn't be on the hook for the contract (apparently standard procedure). However, when Drew got to Buffalo, USA Hockey did not have the policy or the proper paperwork ready and it was the weekend so nothing could get done. Buffalo said, whoa, wait a minute, we aren't completing this thing unless we're protected. Hence, the deal wasn't signed and Drew had to get going for the tourney. Now the thought was that Drew would get the deal finalized when he got back, but someone got on the ball and got the proper paperwork together and the deal got done (either by fax or Buffalo has a rep at the tourney, not sure on that one).
Do you have a link?
Thanks for the info.

Ditto !!
Or post a link to them, so not everbody has to look at the fuzzy pictures.

I also suspect the Sioux are still working on:
Ben Winnett-RW Salmon Arm (BCHL) 6' 175 4-3-89 60-18-31-49-31
Aaron Marvin-C/LW Warroad 6'3 180 5-27-88
Ah, forgot Marvin.

If I am not mistaken isn't UND trying to get Mario Lamoureux?
Apparently there is an offer on the table for him. He also (I think) has an offer from a WHL team to play for them. I think it is the Red Dear Rebels?
