Start of 2nd. . . weird thing happened. Canada is sent to the box. (Bertuzzi is serving the diving penalty.) No one, including Canada's bench, the announcers, etc. seemed to know that a penalty had been assessed? (Must have been at the end of the 1st, as they had not even dropped the puck to start the 2nd.) The announcers commented on the fact that it was not on their official Olympic computer? Odd. . . . see, there is a conspiracy!
On another note, Gagne is expected to return at some point in the game. When asked what the injury was the announcers were told "a lower body thing." Boy, that clears it right up, doesn't it?
The boxscore on nbcolympics.com shows the penalty for "Abuse of Official by Players/Team Officials".
Did they say anything else about that?

Actually, if the Sioux sweep Denver, they would be 3-1-0 against DU this year. I don't know the tie breaker scenarios, but I would hope head to head would be the first tie breaker.
Doh. I just remember that Denver started the home losing streak.

I was playing with the "what if" tool again...
What if the Sioux sweep DU and MTU and DU gets 2 points out of CC? DU and the Sioux would be tied at 34 points in the WCHA. What is the tiebreaker (since the head to head would be 2-2)? Is it goal differential?

Does anybody know if USA Hockey has been/will be doing audio broadcasts of the games?

Say what you will about INCH, at least it appears that their writers are reasonably well focused on the task at hand . . . .
I don't like that projection one bit.

None that I heard of. Kai Kantola was a prospect worth checking out but he committed to LSSU I think... or Bowling Green.
Bowling Green.
I'm pretty sure his name has been mentioned in here...(from the [url="http://www.in-forum.com/articles/index.cfm?id=117707

Because 2006-2007 is Jordan Parise's senior year. Which means we are looking at getting a goaltender for thw 2007-2008 year. With many teams now recruiting more than a season in advance (legal or not), UND needs to get on top of things.
This Quick goaltender... isnt there a goaltender out east playing for maybe either UMass Lowell or BU that has that name? Jonathan Quick? Is Kevin a relation to him? If so, I'd be very surprised if indeed he did come west.
Not that I wouldn't take him. If he's as solid as USHR implies and everyone else says for that matter, heck yeah! Let's get him! And this is especially if the rumor regarding Brad Thiessen (the rumor is: Brad wants a scholarship for next season, not 2007) is true, Quick might be a better idea.
I dno't know too many goalies that are described with good skating abilty, poise with the puck, and is stong on both ends?
USHR wrote:11. Kevin Quick (Buffalo, NY) 6'1"/175, Had an excellent tournament. Has size, skating ability, poise with the puck, and is strong at both ends. Will be a junior at the Salisbury School. Named to the U.S. Under-18 Select Team going to Slovakia/Czech Republic in August.

Iceburg from GPL has a post metioning ND after a Kevin Quick from Salisbury Prep in Salisbury, Connecticut.
I have to think that it is UND and not Notre Dame, because it metions UNH and Minnesota as the other interested schools.
It is all message board hearsay, but it throws a new name out there.

He is a very fundamently sound tender...
Parise is a great goalie, but I wouldn't say he is fundamentaly sound. He is more of a Hasek flopper type of goalie IMO.

Now you are just showing off.

i can hear my boss from my desk.... listening to the game... going nuts
Well then...you are in the clear...

time for mory's three minutes into the 3rd period trivia.
whoever answers this first gets something as long as someone else ponies up a sweet reward.
what is the sioux's record this year when leading after two periods?
13-1-1

Couldn't the "side note" have gone in the Kessel in Madison Crap Thread?

So the question is: Do we go with Alexander, Foyt, or do we try a forward like Martens at D for the 6th Dman on Friday?Plus I don't think Martens plays D.

Just watched the news on WDAY.com and it's true. Go to the end of the sports report, at the very end of the 10:00 news. (Yes, you will see alot of NDSU-UW stuff )

I am predicting a hard fought series and a sweep. I predict that MSU-M is going to spend a lot of its time running its mouth, I predict that Prpich is going to tangle with McKelvee. Lets just say that I am not impressed with MSU-M's record of the past 8 games, lets say that MSU-M went 6-1-1 against the week sisters of the poor, I don't think they played one top twenty program druing that time. If they had beaten some good programs I would have been impressed but they didn't. I am not saying UND should come out flat because if they do that is unexceptable. I just think UND should wipe the stupid grin of MSU-M players and their smug coach Jutting. Jutting is the king of Busch League tactics.
By the way I hate it when we play MSU-Mancows they always come to town running their mouths and their sticks up high. I hope their coach says something stupid like UND has no heart. Classic.
